MAL really needs to add a "Dumb/Dense Protagonist" tag so I can avoid shows like this.

Before, we had shows where the MC would never have to do anything and they'd come across some cheat powers. Now, the meta has shifted to MCs finally training hard to become strong, but the catch is that they lose all their intellect in the process so you end up with a main protagonist who just lives in his own world and has 0 self-awareness.

The gist of the show goes like this, MC strong but he thinks he's weak. Everyone else is weak and thinks the MC is strong. Endless ... frustrating misunderstandings every episode because communication is not an option and MC can't add 1 to 1 together. This formula would be fine in a comedy show but despite the title of this show it tries to be a serious show so it just ends up being annoying to watch.

I only gave it the 3 episodes rule so maybe the MC will eventually wake up and regain his lost intellect, but he's been such a parry god that he's parried me out from watching.

I mean, if you enjoyed Mushoku Tensei enough to have arrived at this season and you're still looking for reviews, I assume you are an anime-only viewer and you're wondering if this season is any good since the last season might or might not have made it seem like the direction of the show changed a bit compared to the first season.

So here's my 2 cents - Yes, keep watching and you'll thank me for it in the future.

This story has always been about Rudeus' second chance at life and one of the most unique and greatest things about this show is that it brings ... the viewers along the entire journey. Things might seem slow at times, but the big plot has always been there and things will eventually come together (My guess would be in the next season judging by the pacing), and you'll see where Rudeus fits in the puzzle.

As long as the story remains faithful to the original material, ez 8/10+

Everyone's praising this show but so far it's honestly pretty mid.

The start was boring and lame; the show begins by showing how MC was working for a shitty company for some years, and instead of thinking about finding new work, he thought about suicide instead.

Then after the apocalypse started, he lost all common sense and became someone who just wants to do what he never got to do without a care in the world.

It seems like he can still get happy and sad, but at the same time, he clearly doesn't seem to feel any sense of urgency or attachment to anybody.

Like when ... his friend was about to be killed, the mc starts giving him a long speech like he's in an episode of DBZ.

So after 4 episodes, I suspect MC might have some mental problems.

Horror/Thriller: Nope, more like slice of life in zombie apocalypse settings
Random Yapping: A shit load

Shows with OP MC can still be entertaining when done right, but sadly, this was just hot garbo in my opinion.

The story begins with an overweight MC who gets bullied by everyone around him. Now, what would you rather see next?

1. MC sucking it up and doing his best to change his life in every way he could, overcoming his hardships in life, going through character development, and collecting possible waifus in the process?

2. MC doing absolutely nothing but he gets lucky and gains everything with 0 effort. Then everyone around likes him because he's Kirito now. He will also stutter nonstop whenever he talks ... to girls. He will literally talk like this- "Umm, uhh, uhh, uh..." *awkward blushing* (what the actual f)

IF NUMBER 2 was what you picked then I hope you aren't being bullied in high school atm. (If you are, better yourself and stand up to bullying, unlike the MC in this show)

The MC is a total coward who just does absolutely nothing when life gets hard, he never even tries to lose any weight, never tries to stand up to his bullies, and just simply gets lucky in life and goes on stuttering and being cringe when interacting with girls but they don't find him creepy now because he's some hot ikemen.

Holy molly so much cringe it made me write my first review to rant. 4/10
