Well..this is interesting. Or at least I thought it would be.
Redo of Healer at first glance may seem like a promising dark-fantasy anime; however, it is plagued with many inconsistencies and shitty direction.

Story:
The premise is simple. The "heretic" hero Keyaru (Keyaruga) sets out to seek revenge on the ones who tortured, abused, and raped him in his past life. It hinted at a great storyline, and it looked propitious. Despite controversial themes such as rape being involved in the narrative, it could have contributed towards a compelling story if presented and done right. It had a strong impression in the

first few scenes--specifically emphasizing Keyaru's terrible past and his "first" act of revenge against Flare. It was (obviously) not at the slightest pleasant viewing these scenes and were too exaggerated and emphasized, but it set the story's shade and tone initially. However, "revenge" could have unmistakably been covered way more seriously. A lot more serious.
Even though rape (not only as a theme but as a plot device) made this plot so critical in the beginning, the revenge (and potential acts of revenge) could have been planned and executed in a lot more complexity. Furthermore, the show's seriousness was diminished at one point, and the plot ultimately just went in the direction of the main character's sexual fantasies. In other words, this plot went from something very dark and potentially compelling to fulfilling horny kids' dreams. That is right. What could have been compelling and revolutionary went in the direction of the main character fucking every girl he comes across or will come across. I would go as far as to say that the narrative was structured to advance that cause. I can back up this comment with an example that is right in front of us all this time. The princess. Why in the world did he keep her when his goal was to get his revenge? It is not understood until later in the story when she is needed to keep the plot going in a specific direction.
However, there could have been many other ways to move the plot in the direction it was supposed/wanting to go without using or needing Flare. The only other justification I can see for why she was not killed was because she only exists to pave the way towards a bullshit fantasy. She exists to please Keyaru and the viewers, as does his other "tools" do.
Certain things do not make sense, and it's eventually inevitable to inference that this show only existed to satisfy the animal within us. Obviously failing to do that. Everything about the narrative got weaker, goals and motivations cannot be taken seriously anymore. At one point, it is hard to determine if the main character wants serious revenge or to beat the shit out of every p****y he comes across and reward the viewer with a very nice orga*m. What was also thought to be staked in the story were not stakes, so there was no tension in the story.
Worldbuilding, key in giving a fantasy story more context and depth, was not the main focus either, and that honestly led me to many questions, like what kind of world the main character is in, what kind of races or people existed, etc. Some questions like those are solved later on in this story (because it is a typical fantasy setting), but my questions also appear from the never-ending plot holes. I would make the claim that the concept is flawed to the core. Why couldn't he get his revenge in his first life? He had the strength to at the end of that final scene. What was the purpose of trying to create a second world, knowing that he will go through all of this again for literally nothing if he just took his revenge there and then? Everything is just being done all over again. He could have forgotten about the pain he went through, just start new. Why go through all that pain again. It does not make sense, lol. The philosophical stone is not well understood either. Although, these are just some of the many questions I have. A good aspect of this plot is that its points were introduced very seamlessly. Revenge, another theme covered in this anime, was interesting but obviously not given enough depth and was executed ludicrously like every other element. Remember what I said earlier— it's hard to take this anime seriously.
Characters:
Our cast is not anything remarkable and is forgettable, just like the story. Our main character, Keyaru, also known as Keyaruga, is fucked up.. wildly fucked up.. mentally. The guy has been through some tough shit in the past and all those years of abuse and torture put a toll on him. We as an audience must remember that albeit he is portrayed as an anti-hero, he is not necessarily evil because his actions are influenced by his fucked up core, and he is usually seen helping people, as long as it's for his benefit of course. Our real antagonist is the kingdom and the other few heroes. Keyaru had the most potential, but obviously, it was not taken advantage of. He is also known for being manipulative and can make his companions "tools" because of that.
Moreover, he can bring people to his favor. In favor of supporting their revenge goals, he also uses them for his pleasure and fulfilling his goals. He acts like they are just tools but goes out of his way to feel for them? The guy is too inconsistent. Nah, I will not justify this with his fucked up personality-- it's just bad writing. However, to sum it up, he is just the vessel that takes the viewer on a journey to the ultimate orga*m.
The rest of the characters are just forgettable, and honestly, they are so unoriginal that having them removed or having different characters wouldn't change the plot's direction or feel of the story because there is LITERALLY nothing unique about them. Flare represents almost every noble in the kingdom, Setsuna could be anyone else, and it wouldn't matter. Kureha is just irrelevant. Side characters are not anything distinctive either. No development or anything. Very flat and boring.
Each character had lots of potential.
There is nothing much to say about Art & Animation; it was average in my opinion, once again nothing too special. Some of the fight sequences were okay as well.
Music & Sound is subjective, and everyone has a different experience with them, but personally, I found them to be average. They are not anything special, but I would say my favorite was the ED.
Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi (Redo Of Healer) is different from your usual fantasy anime; however, it fails to execute its ideas right, and the priorities were easily shown as the story progressed. It favored mainstream appeal and money over being something despite controversial--revolutionary. If you are feeling lewd, watch hentai, I promise you it's better than this crap. There is no point in waiting to see the climax or the end.
Story & plot - 4
characters- 3
Art & sound- 5
enjoyment - 6
Averaged out, my score is 5 but imma go with 4.
