Little Witch Academia, one of my favourite anime of all time. At first glance, it just looks like a normal anime, I mean... it's basically just a story about a little girl who has no magic talents whatsoever trying to achieve her goals and become like her idol. Even so, I still found this anime really enjoyable. It might be because I feel nostalgic towards this show that I gave it such a high score, but I promise you this is still a really good show.

at magic, and getting closer to her dream each passing day. The last time I watched LWA was 10 months ago so I might not remember some part of the story but I'll try my best to recall it (without writing spoilers). We follow Akko on her journey to become a witch like her idol, Chariot. She was bad at magic, and she wasn't from a witch's family so she is often looked down on by some students at Luna Nova, and a few teachers also dislike her as she is quite a handful to deal with and she causes quite a few messes every now and then due to her energetic personality. Despite all that, she still doesn't give up and try her very best to become a witch. Along the way she made a lot of friends as she is very likable once they got to know her. The best part about this show is the character development (The plot is pretty good too). We got to know each characters better and better throughout the show and we uncover a few mysteries (some are pretty huge ones) along the way.
Art & Sound: 9/10
I mean.. c'mon it's made by studio Trigger, we already know the art is going to be high quality. The animation was smooth and even the tiniest details are drawn carefully. They even animated their movements according to real life physics to make the animation looks natural and overall better looking. So I don't really have any complaints about the art.
As for the sound, I watched the English dub version of this when I first watched it and it was really good. Out of all the english dubs I've watched, this has to be one of the best ones out there, it doesn't really feels like it was translated to another language when I was watching the dub which is why it was amazing.
The ops and eds are amazing. There are a few ops and eds but the first ed is my favourite, "Hoshi wo Todoreba". Tho all the ops and eds are great so overall 9/10.
Character: 10/10
I have to say LWA did an amazing job at characters' development. It is one of the main reason I gave this anime such a high score.
First we have Akko, she was bascially a student who has a lot of trouble learning and a troublemaker too. At first not a lot of students like her and the teachers just thought of her as a delinquent-ish student. But she is a very lovable character and she instantly made 2 friends in the first episode, she gradually made more and more friends throughout the show. As for her magic, I guess she is still quite bad at it even until the last episode but that's the fun of it, she can't just always take the easy way out with magic. A pretty fun character.
We also have Lotte and Sucy, which are the 2 friends Akko made on the first day of school. They also live in the same room in school. Sucy didn't like Akko at first cuz she find her a little annoying due to her energetic and "over-friendly" + talkative personality but she opened her heart to Akko and became her friend after they've gone through some events in episode one. I don't really have anything to say for Lotte, she's just the usual smart and shy girl, she was decent at magic so she doesn't stand out a lot in school (except when she was with Akko). This trio has a really good dynamic so it works.
And now finally we have Diana, the best character in the show I'd say. She was the top student of the class and she is from a well known witch's family too so she was welcomed by all the teachers and all the students look up to her. She was mean to Akko at first but Akko slowly got to her (not gonna say the reason as I consider them spoilers, but you can find it out yourself from the show, pretty heartwarming scene) and they become friends in the end. She is the Tsundere character in this show (One of my favourite types, but Nino is still the best Tsundere haha). And ofc I ship Akko with Diana, the best ship in the anime, fight me.
Overall: 9/10
Overall it is a very wholesome anime. I hope season 2 will come out tho, there's still a chance and I'll be waiting. Definitely recommend this to anyone, especially those who just started anime cuz this is the anime that got me hooked on anime in the first place.
