If you want something creative and thoughtful, then here you go. Here is the original anime that isn't isekai or gacha.
This is a mostly episodic adventure story with good characters. The only reason I wouldn't recommend it is if you lack critical thinking, don't like female protagonists, don't like fast-paced dialogue, don't like episodic formats, or just don't like the genre of post-apocalypse with light-hearted drama and themes. I know people who would not enjoy this anime because of their tastes so I say it's not for everyone.
My only personal issue with the story is that, likely a result of the short season, the world
...
building has been falling off towards the end and some stations had to be passed through where the writers probably had more to tell.
At least to me, it did a good job of setting up a mystery but it seems the logic in the ending was simplified when the writer realized they couldn't fit everything they wanted to. I feel like parts of the earlier episodes were unnecessary, and thinking about the possibilities was pointless. It was still fairly enjoyable overall and I'll rewatch it one day.

I dont know what happened with the ending, but this manga is too good to give a low rating.
Funny, although these jokes might only make sense to you if you're an otaku. By that I mean experience, understanding the culture, and tropes. Assuming you share that understanding, comedy can take place. There are some serious moments but really its selling point is the comedy.
TL;DR, you have to watch at least 300 animes and read 500 mangas and LNs before you can even begin to comprehend the genius of this manga.
Ehh, the art was good. Characters are basically tropes that play into the scenario for comedy,
...
but they are consistent with their tropes, so its OK.
The ending felt rushed and I just ended up skimming over it, but there is a sequel manga so its fine. I did reduce points for that but its just not that important compared to the rest of the manga itself.

I imagine whoever wrote this, was inspired from something else. That in writing this, they took their favorite parts of that story, and rewrote it here. Think of watching the last 2 episodes of code geass without watching anything before that. That's what this is. The huge impact without any context or backstory. Even if one exists, you won't see it here. Lots of action and pretty lights.. but no story.
As another reviewer said: Michael bay: the anime
So story? none. It was almost cringy to watch, but alas, I kept hoping something, anything would be given an explanation. Even if it were the most out
...
of place thing ever, just please tell me what the hell is going on. But for naught.
The art was good. Consistent, had lots of explosions, and looks pretty sharp. Overall I would've expected more from a kickstarted anime, but it turns out they only got $878,028. Which is a considerably low budget for any anime.
The soundtrack was okay. For an action anime, it was pretty much average. I've heard better.
They did get actual native english speaking voice actors though. It was kinda cringy hearing the dudes acting operator, but mostly tolerable.
The main character's VA was pretty good, and everyone else was average.
But speaking of characters, holy shit. Wow. Literally the first few minutes is all dedicated to the backstory. That is all we know about the MC. She has a family. Sorry for the spoiler, but this is a very tiny detail that could be summarized in one line. I just couldn't find myself caring. I wanted to cry, but wow I do not care. WOOOWWWW of course...
In similar fashion, the rest of the characters have little to none reason nor backstory either.
So this could've been one of those where they showed things that would lead you to assume the backstory, and go on from there. That through the action they could have achieved their introduction and built a solid story with who would be the actual MC.
But then it ends. I've never seen 28 minutes go by so fast. The rest of 10 minutes are credits.
I believe a sequel might be able to save this story, that everything would suddenly make sense in just 3 lines. I want to believe, but knowing how this turned out, I don't think it would happen. At least not on its own.
I just had to get that out there. It's bad. I feel bad for the backers. But maybe if this is more your tastes, if you can blissfully ignore the complete lack of backstory, you may enjoy it.
Thank you for reading, have a wonderful day.

No Game No Life Review
Story
Good flowing story that is sure to excite next season too. The story is very exciting and interesting. I won't go over it because there is a synopsis that tells you all you need to know before watching the anime.
Art
Doesn't fail to impress. I first watched this as it aired, then just now started watching the bluray version. The art is even more impressive this time which also features some scenes being nearly completely redrawn.
Sound
Opening track is great, works very well for the anime. Sound effects are noticeable and meaningful as is most of the background music.
...
Character
Sora and Shiro are blank characters. They are easy to understand and likely will not change until [something] happens. That being said, apparently Stephanie is a main? it doesn't seem like it. Steph definitely needs a little more development.
Enjoyment
Comedy was pretty funny. The art and the story combined can make the show seem breath-taking. There were times that I became enthralled in watching this anime, and every single savory moment.
Overall
I would recommend this anime to anyone. It was totally enjoyable and very interesting to watch. Unless you crave for a certain niche, then watch this. On another note, this show doesn't leave much of an aftertaste. Although I would prioritize the second season of this show over most, it just lacks a little bit of impact, but it is still great.

Not bad. Definitely is unique. I couldn't think of many related titles.
Story
Does not have a plotline that flows through the whole series. Individual arcs. Overall they're average. Arcs are straightforward with no complex side plots or whatever.
Kind of a harem, but not in the way a harem works. If you get over the fact that the protagonist meets a lot of pretty girls, then its not a harem at all.
However, I think it would be great as a romance with an good ending.
Art
Fluid characters, lots of still backgrounds. This is modern animation. It looks good by making the viewer's focus the best part. It
...
looks good and that's what counts. But other than that it's nothing spectacular. OP and ED look nice but also have lots of still shots. They go well with the music though.
Sound
I don't remember a lot about the background music, which probably means it was either not very noticeable or memorable. The OP and ED songs are really good though.
Character
Average characters with some differences. Little to none backstory. Characters are not too complex for watching while multitasking. But still entertaining.
Enjoyment
Entertaining and kind of interesting at some parts, yet kind of dull at some parts. Very interesting at one part though... It could just be that I wanted to see some things that were still airing over this though.
Overall
Fine (6/10)
I wasn't expecting much, but it was a little better than I thought it would be. I might recommend this as something to watch if there's nothing that is more entertaining than this to watch. I said its not very interesting but that may be an understatement, as few things could possibly seem interesting to me. This show makes nice light-viewing material.

At first, it seems like an action based on a few ridiculous things.
Looking back, I might say its like an exaggerated light-hearted show.
Story
Daimidaler has the preface of a typical harem/shounen show. But it tries to be a lot of things. Some of which it becomes successfully.
Halfway though, it feels like it just starts heading in a random direction with the plot. I could already tell it wouldn't end how the protagonists wanted it to end. But the actual ending is actually pretty neat. Light-hearted, but goes out with a bang.
It was pretty funny along the way too. Lacking, but still good.
Art
Average art. Nothing special, but
...
has no problems either.
Note:
Large breasts on the female characters.
Antagonists are penguins with tails where we would have our private parts. (how the heck do they reproduce???)
Sound
The OP is energetic, fun and catchy. Whatever the ED was, oh well.
I didn't really feel much from the soundtracks. They just sounded like your typical mood-setting tracks. I don't think they were used often either.
Character
The way the two protagonists sort of switch places is pretty interesting.
(Main Protagonist) Kouichi is a pervert, and he has no problem being one. He is one with his inner self. Shallow, yet deep. Cool, manly, gets the girls, but still has lots to learn.
(Main Protagonist) Shouma, or whatever his name was. I felt kinda frustrated halfway through the series when this character came in.
Kinda lame. Has a girlfriend but in that kind of relationship where they are annoyingly lovey-dovey but not getting any farther than that. He does improve later on the series.
Enjoyment
I laughed a fair amount.
When I think about it now, it feels like a light-hearted show.
It was pretty interesting though, overall plot-wise.

I had not played any Persona games nor watched any other Persona shows before having watched this.
Story
The story is very intricate, but not complex. The show is mainly a mystery. There is a lot of what seems like filler, but its really apart of the story in a way that doesn't really matter but is still notable.
The mystery is the most important part of the story, which is slowly revealed throughout the show until the end.
Meanwhile, the characters who will become our protagonists begin to come together.
There are some unexplained things, like about personas, the fog, etc. Which were explained in the game, but not
...
here. If this were maybe as part of the game or something, I might give it a 8 or maybe a 9. But they could have put it in. But they didn't.
Art
Persona 4 The Animation has a noticeable art style sort of. Its better than average in its own way, but its nothing special.
They did try some noticeable things with this show like on the characters skin, there was noticeable shading, but I think this works in their favor.
Sound
The OP and ED are fine, and seem to be based off of music from the game. As well as a lot of the soundtracks.
But they were really unique and catchy. They fit well for the mood of whatever point the show was at.
Character
This is probably the most important part of the show.
All the major characters are pretty deep. They go though a change that is literally directly a result of the plot, and the protagonist's actions.
(Main Protagonist) Yuu is pretty quiet and mysterious. His character is pretty shallow, but only because he seems to be sort of unconflicted and one with himself. He can be badass at times, and say embarrassing things as he has to.
Enjoyment
Very interesting, somewhat entertaining.
I was kind of touched with how the plot played out at some times, and the show has some nice slice-of-life parts to it. They don't try to mix in their every-day life with the action. But those moments aren't so memorable to me. I may recommend to someone who likes mystery. This is what I felt was the greatest mood during the serious parts of the show. Has its slow points but picks up a lot by the end. Might seem a little rushed but not really. I can tell it was intentional.
Summary
Very good. I guess all that friendship stuff got to me, in a good way :) But if you dont really care for that then go ahead and not watch this. Like most shows, not everyone can love it. So if you're not really into the mystery, then I don't think you'd be very interested.
I will always recommend you at least try a few episodes, but I wouldn't expect just anyone to like it.
I do want to play the game now too, not just to compare, but for the sake of experiencing the full story.

I couldn't stop watching this show. Not to eat nor sleep.
Each episode is different in the way it plays out but they all share the same direction.
Story
Shows huge resemblance to TTGL in many ways I wont mention because they would be spoilers. Even with its similarities its still very good and worth your time.
Its not deep, but still very interesting. It made me wonder "Where could they be going with this?" and the way it plays out is so unpredictable and exciting, its unbelievable.
There were some things that came up like things that happened as it was convenient to the protagonist but its not
...
big.
Most of the series is pretty much episodic until the last ones, but even being episodic they definitely are worth watching and only few could be labeled as filler.
Art
From what I know, the artists who did TTGL brought over the same art style to studio TRIGGER.
It was lacking sometimes, like lines over something else or whatever, but its still very good. Loved the text names that pop up its so nostalgic of old revenge plot shows. Even without that its really cool.
Really liked the opening animations.
Sound
The OPs and EDs very well done and get you in the right mood for watching this show.
The soundtracks are really fitting of the art and plot, cinematic and fast-paced. They have recognizable tones that are outstandingly in sync with the plot.
The antagonists tracks are very exciting too.
Character
(Main Protagonist) Ryuuko is somewhat deep but at least not shallow. Likeable and straightforward. Has her ups and downs. Her actions are clearly effected by changes within herself throughout the series.
The all-lovable Mato is irritatingly indescribable. Well, Mato is Mato.
She does play important roles and stuff but she is a little shallow and uninteresting at times. But her roles go by quickly, so there is not too much loss if you're not interested in her parts.
The antagonists are interesting, but only later on. But much more info would be a spoiler to the plot.
None of the characters are wusses like many protagonists these days. I am fucking tired of that. :)
Enjoyment
Not everyone can love Kill la Kill. Its not romance. Not comedy, but has some funny moments.
It has a lot of things to point out though.
Shows some things about bonds and friendship.
Often times, it becomes pretty light-hearted. Usually if the protagonists aren't around the antagonists.
Lots of blood, but not like crazy over it. If you get queasy from blood, you will probably be okay. I'm the same way.
At the same time I say not everyone can enjoy this, I will still recommend this to people who may lot be interested in something like this. Because Kill la Kill is pretty unique among all the action shows. It definitely stands out.
I really enjoyed this show.
I laughed, got emotional, flipped my keyboard, couldn't stop watching, and added it to my favorites. Its definitely a memorable show that is worth every moment of its 24 minute episodes.
Even if you don't think you will enjoy it, I think you should give it a shot.
I think I will be expecting some cool releases from this studio later on while I check out their other shows. I hope my review was helpful to you.
"t-t-that was my f-first review. You had better be grateful."
