I went into this totally expecting it to be yet another Power scaling / Power fantasy anime, but I stand corrected.
I was so much more than that and I loved every single bit of it.
Honestly its been a while since I've watched an anime this touching. From the role reversals we get to see from the two main characters when compared the end to how it started, to the tense and difficult scenes with her brother. it was perfect.
Might not be great for someone else, but personally, it was just what I needed.
While writing this I realized the story excels in building
...
tense moments and then resolving them beautifully, giving the watcher great relief. So, props to the writer!
I could only think of two things that could've been a little better,
1. The scenes with her brother, only if we could get some more backstory. Or if they came to a better resolution at the end... :(
2. We got to see more of Anis's magitech inventions or her workings behind the scenes, that would've been nice. But i guess its not that kind of anime.
Lastly,
That scene in the last ep where they expressed their true feelings for each other was.. Beautiful. I feel happy, but also somewhat jealous, thinking I'd probably never get to experience something like this... But oh well, its not about me lol
(Anis's wish as a child came true yay).
<I'm writing this right after finishing the anime and before going to bed, I'll update if i feel any different about it after waking up! This anime has a LN and manga apparently, so I might try out either of them to get to know further details of the story>
