....Honestly I don't think this anime even deserves any points. Unless you're as much of a disgusting pervert as the entire male cast of this anime I suggest you find a better way to occupy your time.
Story: 1/10
Virtually non existent. Unless you count a bunch of frustratingly retarded vampires finding new ways to objectify and equally frustrating main character. It's 80% them drinking her blood and the other 20% screwing around. Their tragic backstories are no excuse to be so incredibly ridiculous and tasteless.
Art: 5/10
It's passably decent but highly typical shoujo art where if you put someone's face on a three quarter angle
...
their mouths are suddenly like to times higher up on their chins. Ugh. Really bright colours though. Which would be cool if the rest of it wasn't so mediocre.
Sound: 5/10
To be perfectly honest, I did not pay attention, so a five it is.
Character: 1/10
Uuuuuuuugggggggghhhhhh. Should I even? These characters are so flat and one dimensional I want to kill them all. Pretty much all the boys are the exact same highly perverted character with maybe ONE individual quirk each. They are given backstories to work with, but nothing is ever done to enhance their characters. Their histories just sit there like it somehow justifies them to be endlessly mopey, sadistic and horny. And the main character. F*** I want to kill her so badly myself. There is NOTHING redeeming about her, she just stands there the whole time feeling sorry for the asshats who are objectifying her like complete manwhores. Sh never raises a finger to defend herself. Instead whenever she shows even the SLIGHTEST resolve, she just backs down an friggin apologizes for it. Like, seriously? WTF???? So yeah.
Enjoyment: 1/10
If you can't already tell, this anime is a waste of time. Don't bother with it.
Overall: 1/10
I reiterate. Waste. Of. Time.

Black Cat, a manga I read in my novice otaku days and have reread many times since....
STORY: 8
Okay, while the beginning starts off seemingly random without an explanation of any kind, I think that, given the fast-paced and upbeat nature of the manga, it was the perfect way to start it off. It's early on, and you kind of just want to jump in to the character's life right away, no drawling backstory. Train's past is revealed in small parts which is good for not giving things away too early. He starts as an easygoing, likeable character, but when it starts unveiling some of
...
Train's actions in the past, you start to wonder how much of the Chronos Black Cat is left in him still. While the basic idea is overused, it isn't that much of a big deal when you think about the stuff it's paired with; science and tao in one story? HUH?! I haven't seen that before. Couple that with a crazy former-partner, a shape shifting little girl and a gigantic re-animated dinosaur and you're in for a fun ride. I realize, as many people have pointed out, that the characters especially bear a remarkable resemblance to those of Cowboy Beebop, but hey, it was a good manga, who can blame the author? I could do WITHOUT the slutty thief, but more on that later.
ART: 8
Okay, point one, THE COVERS! Wow, super eye-catching, and the color scheme is a crazy Looney-Toons type thing with colors that stand out and sometimes clash against each other with a retro-ghetto sort of feel I personally love. In terms of the manga art, I have to say it's a LITTLE static and the fight scenes are kind of bland at times, but even though the characters have the same generic face shape, the drastic difference in clothing, posture and expression makes every single character unique in appearance. One last thing, Sven's hat. Does it remind anyone else of Reborn?
CHARACTERS: 6
Like I said before, a lot of the characters resemble those of Cowboy Beebop. Not a huge deal if it weren't for the fact it was the two main characters. Train, obviously based off of Spike. Easygoing bounter-hunter man who's always the good guy, beating the shit outta the nasty villains and of course, awesome at gunplay. Rinslet, slutty thief who I wish so desperately didn't exist. Would Train have fallen off a roof if she didn't exist? NOPE. Although, she does play a role in the rescuing of Eve, so cudos to her for that.
ENJOYMENT: 8
Despite obvious flaws, Black Cat had it's role-on-the-floor humour and its cry-till-you-have-no-more-tears sadness, but it makes for an enjoyable light read, and memorable for it's crazy villains and tao power twist!
OVERALL: 7
Black Cat had a lot of potential for improvement (and don't ever watch the anime after reading the book. You'll think it's some BAAAAD shit), and I really wish the author could have gone the extra little mile to make it a stunning manga, but still worth your time by all means!

Chapters of this manga don't come out often enough. I've been waiting for MONTHS for the next chapter and it's killing me because Pandora Hearts is the most engaging manga I have ever read.
STORY: 9
First off, I can't stress enough how much I love the Victorian era. The cloths are a big reason why, and Pandora Hearts has much of the kinds of cloths I like. :P The plot of PH is elaborate and engaging, though it's not so much so that it leaves you drooling down your shirt wondering what happened. Even after it gives you a precious tidbit of info, it still leaves
...
you wondering and willing you to go on. Usually with stuff like this, I'm able to predict what will happen, but that has happened only very rarely in Pandora Hearts. The tragedy of Sablier is a huge mystery and every concept of this manga is just so COOL, so DIFFERENT. Despite being and Alice in Wonderland twist, the story is completely unique.
ART: 9
The art is very good. It's easy to tell every character apart and they all look so different from face, to body stature, to cloths. I LOVE the cloths, as I've already said. I think that it's usually somewhat difficult to make suits look different, but PH doesn't seem to have that problem. I especially love anything and everything Break wears. It's Victorian with a slightly ridiculous flare that somehow makes it cool. The backgrounds are detailed and look like they've had a lot of love put into them. Not a single line is messy or wobbly, even from the beginning. The only thing I dislike is that there is a fair amount gore, which I can handle, but I don't especially prefer.
CHARACTERS: 10
Every single damn character in this story has such a hugely developed personality. There are no one dimensional cast members here, everyone is involved, and there are no useless characters, not even Oz's dad. Everyone plays their part like a chess piece on a board. It's really fun to see how everything unfolds. Oz is very well developed. Despite being raised by a rich family, he's not arrogant or self-centred, which shows that he is naturally kind. At the same time, he does have this really dark side that actually scares me on occasion and it shows all us readers that (and I quote): "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." At this point, my only complaint is that the story should have centred around Gilbert, as it was originally meant to, because more's going on with him than it is with Oz.
ENJOYMENT: 10
I loved reading PH and I'm sitting on the edge of my seat for the next chapter. It can have side-side-splitting humour, or cry-in-a-corner depression, but either way, there's a perfect balance of each. Once you start reading, you'll never want to put this manga down.
OVERALL: 9
I rarely ever give a manga a 10/10, and I'm reserving it for when I find the holy grail of manga, which this comes quite close to, if not for one small little thing that I would say if not for the fact that it's such a ridiculously huge spoiler that it just wouldn't be fair to any of you. SO, this manga is for sure worth your time. It's a Psychological Horror that's actually good for once.

Vampire Knight was the second manga I ever read. At that point I wasn't really familiar with the whole Shoujo genre, so I didn't realize that most of the other Shoujo stuff is boring love story crap. Still, for a shoujo, Vampire Knight was a lot better.
STORY: 5
The story starts off with the cool idea of vampires and humans coexisting, and the first two or three books aren't bad. Sorry, this spoiler is unavoidable but I have to say that from the time Yuki gets her memories back and onward, the manga sucks so badly I wondered why I was even reading it. As
...
of the plot twists and such, they are so predictable that I could just stamp a "thank you for that, captain obvious" sticker half way through the first book, not even, more like one third into it. That was let down, but at least it's better than Twilight, which has no storyline at all except for an angsty teenager and her vampire boyfriend (hey, I swear I've heard this somewhere before). :P Sorry for that, I really dislike Twilight. Anyway, to reiterate, the father you read in, the more demented and hard to follow the plot becomes. Books eight through thirteen were full of so much pointless fluff that it could have been condensed into one book.
ART: 6
Like all shoujo mangas, guys tend to look like girls, and the eyes are way to huge. Not just like regular manga big, I mean flipping ENORMOUS. Also, apparently the vampires' eyes glow red when they desire blood. the artist didn't manage to get that point across at all. The author had to point it out before I actually noticed it. I like the creativity for the uniforms though. That was basically the only thing I was impressed with. The backgrounds are good when there are any, and though I have said I don't really pay attention to backgrounds, I have felt more confused about where characters are in Vampire Knight than in basically every other manga that I've read. To me, all shoujo art looks the same, so there isn't really any uniqueness to it.
CHARACTERS: 4
Zero is the tortured teen with the bad past. Haven't we all heard this before? "Yuki I wanted you to stay away from me because I didn't want to hurt you." It's nothing new. Isn't that like every single Vampire romance thing out now? The guy is mysterious and emo, and the girl is the ray of light for his salvation, but he had it ripped away from him because she's torn between two loves, and of course she's only considered her childhood friend and friend. This isn't the mild, appealing cliché that's mixed with new ideas, it's basically a lack of creativity. The only one who has any kind of depth is...actually wait, I can't think of anyone. As you've probably noticed, this review contains 100x more bias than all my other ones. Oops, but I can't help venting because Vampire Knight showed at least some promise, but now it's just assing around. Disappointment. D:
ENJOYMENT: 5
Vampire Knight really let me down, and I probably would have been better off not reading it. It would have spared me and extra week of my life I could have used to do other things, but I was basically only reading it because I thought Zero was kind of cool, and then the author turns around and goes LOL nope! DX He's an emo! Anyway, it didn't hold my attention.
OVERALL: 5
It is far from the best manga I've read, but, if you love the tortured vampire and his love who doesn't love him back type shit, then trust me, you will drool over Vampire Knight.

Other readers might notice this as well, but I found the title of this manga is taken in a different way than it is meant to which sort of confused me a little until I read the synopsis. Now, just to clarify, as I'm writing this, there are only 36 chapters of Undertaker Riddle currently out. Time for stats:
STORY: 7
Undertaker Riddle again follows the "_____ is a regular high school student until [insert rest of synopsis that we all know is coming]" pattern. Still, while it has that boringly mainstream bit, it does have some of its own originality in the way it combines a
...
whole bunch of more common elements. Like the undertakers. They're basically shinigami, but they are ruled over by the "King" of the Catacombs, the world outside heaven, hell, and the living world. The undertakers are souls who could not go to either heaven or hell, which is a bit of a cool idea right there. The author also portrays souls as butterflies, based on the Japanese legend that people's souls reside in butterflies once they die. Now, on to the story itself, I found the beginning seemed rushed, as in, 15 or so pages into the manga, an Undertaker called Riddle asks the main character if he'll make a contract with him and become an Undertaker to drive away the spirits that haunt him. I just read this going "why is he being so kind to him right away that's way too unrealistic!" but, in the author's defence, it is explained later (around chapter 34 ish, give or take a couple chapters). So, that was a bit vague, but otherwise, the story is entertaining.
ART: 7
Undertaker Riddle's art is kind of simple. All the characters basically have the same face shape, but with a few subtle differences, like chin shape or something along those lines, but not a lot of difference. What really separates all the characters are their hairstyles and their Undertaker outfits. Each outfit is similar, but unique in it's own way, which is good. But I've noticed that the majority of the cast consists of tall skinny guys, so I kind of wonder if the artist knows how to draw much beyond that...The backgrounds on the other hand are pretty good. Personally, I don't really pay much attention to the backgrounds when I read manga, but the elaborate funeral set ups and the make-believe worlds of the arcana are cool.
CHARACTERS: 7
All the characters' personalities seem drastically one-sided except for Sakura and the King, but there isn't really much known about her at this point so I can't really judge her. All the characters' pasts are a bit of a mystery at this point except for Dante Farnese's, who was examined thoroughly. Like I said, though, it's a young manga yet, so I hope more of that comes. All the cast's personalities are off in one direction: Riddle seems kind and light-hearted, but he's actually a freaky sadist. Dante is a sexist, lazy alcoholic who's searching for the pleasures he never had in life. Hiren tries too hard to be child-like and simple so as not to reveal his cold-hearted nature. Lucian is an annoying bigot with an older sister complex, and Brad is the over-working secretary who hates for even the slightest thing to be out of line. I think I've said enough to make my point, but that said, while I was reading, the extremes of the characters' personalities didn't bother me. It almost seems as if it actually suits the story. Also, there are a manageable amount of characters; enough for a story, but not so many it's stupid. Although, I have to say, Noir was a completely POINTLESS character.
ENJOYMENT: 8
I actually really enjoyed Undertaker. I think its clichéd humour has charm and it's got a balance of seriousness and comedy. Seeing the extremes of the characters show when they mouth off and occasionally throw insults is amusing. The only thing I wish there was less of was carrying on the joke that Sakura looks like a girl because it got old after chapter 15.
OVERALL: 7
Undertaker does have flaws that get on my nerves occasionally, but it is a decent manga and is worth your time if you like classic clichés, Victorian dress and you don't mind the occasional gory bit.

There are a lot of mixed reviews about Bleach. What it all comes down to really is major BIAS. In fact, when you're writing a review on something, it's completely impossible to do it without even the slightest bit of bias. Anyway, so here I go with the stats, some people probably want to kill me, while others may want to hug me.
STORY: 7
While Bleach starts off with the usual "_____ is a regular high school student who one day meets a strange girl/boy who gives him/her special powers and he/she is now dragged into her/his world." I still found it enjoyable. The Soul
...
Society arc starts out well, and Kubo does a good job balancing out some of the mainstream elements by adding weird new ideas like pezz-dispenser type things that actually hold fake souls, and all of Kisuke's ridiculous paraphernalia that he sells at Urahara Shouten. That said, the story follows the endless train, fight, train, fight pattern which can really get boring after a while. sometimes I just skip whole chapters and/or episodes just to get away from it, and it's almost like Kubo was just stalling until he had another epiphany that would set the story back in motion.
ART: 10
The art in Bleach is fabulous. It is the cleanest, most realistic art I have ever seen in a manga. Kubo can sometimes make two entirely different characters look very similar, but manga tends to do that as an unavoidable consequence, and while his style starts out slightly blocky and square like his art from Zombie Powder, it does grow and develop into a truly unique and distinct style. One thing I have to commend Kubo on is His detail. I mean, I know there's a limit to how different one katana can be from another, so I really like how he was able to come up with tons of hilt designs and individual powers for each zanpakuto. The fight scenes are clean and easy to follow, although they are sometimes unnecessarily laced with huge explosions that can become over the top. The only other thing I would suggest doing less would maybe be drawing large breasted women. While I know guys enjoy the eye candy, F cups are just ridiculous.
CHARACTERS: 7
There is a huge cast in Bleach, and while lots of them have their own personalities and often turn out to be important characters, there are some that I can't stop wondering why Kubo even mentioned them. Like Yumichika and Ikaku. Don't get me wrong, this pair of eccentrics is very entertaining, but do they and actually ACCOMPLISH anything in the series? I would say....no. It's not like Kubo needs any more comic relief characters, so I sometimes wonder. Anyway, I think, despite what others say, that Ichigo is a very complex, well thought out character. He is, like many fictional characters, too much like one type of personality, in his case short tempered and obnoxious, and that is unrealistic, but at the same time, he has a kinder, more level-headed aspect that makes him a well rounded lead. Because he has such a tough exterior and hardly ever shows what he's like underneath, it means he does, like every real person, have insecurity, which makes him a very three dimensional character that people can relate to.
ENJOYMENT: 8
Despite Bleach's flaws and the dragging plot towards the end of the Aizen arc, I found Bleach very enjoyable. One thing that keeps it up beat is the assembly line of humour and the endless puns. Some people may think it's over the top, but I personally (yes I'm being biased here), think that it fits with the story and can add a LOL moment to an otherwise very serious plot. Bleach also has some good lines and phrases like Ichigo's hollow's analogy of the king and his horse. That really stuck with me, and I hope Kubo can dish out more of those in the Thousand Year Blood War arc.
OVERALL: 7
Truthfully, I think Bleach should have ended for good after Ihigo defeated Aizen. He would have lived a normal life, died and become a soul reaper. Everything works out. The fullbring arc shouldn't have even existed, and after that, things are a bit slow to get going again, but I hope Kubo can finish Bleach with flare and make Ichigo exit the stage with a good ending, and don't you dare rush it Kubo, like you did with the Aizen arc, because it you do, I will fly all the way out to Japan solely for the purpose of killing you. On a lighter note, I hope anyone who bothered to read this found it helpful. If you like random, crazy ideas, boys who have death god powers, and Mexican evil spirits, Bleach is the manga for you.
