[SPOILERS AHEAD]
...
5 Centimeters per Second is a movie I really wanted to enjoy
I heard wonderful things about it, and after watching a few emotional
movies like "Your Name" and "Weathering With You" I was left completely
disappointed with 5 Centimeters per Second
The movie is split into 3 "Episodes", the first story is about 2 childhood friends that have been separated because of constant moving between schools,
therefore making them be away from each other.
I almost cried when they were leaving each other for the last and final time
But in the end I
didn't drop a tear.
The second story is about a boy who changes schools and one of the girls falls in love with him,
in the end after having spent so much time with him, she learns that he really didn't care about her and seeked further goals, so she decided to leave him alone (more symbolism to this than described here)
Didn't drop a tear.
The third story was really short, and I can't comment much about it because I couldn't really decipher it.
Didn't drop a tear.
One thing that however is good with this movie is the art, they really worked on it and it came out beautiful.
Main problem with the movie is probably the lack of character development,
I think it's the main reason I didn't cry while watching this movie.

Story: 7
The stories were interesting and filled with symbolism, but I can't see myself enjoying them
The plots for the stories were interesting, but it felt like they were your classic "childhood friend" and "love at first sight" plots with a little twist at the end
Almost felt like listening to an audio book...
Art: 9
Really beautiful, especially for the time, can't quite grasp what's so beautiful about it, but I really like it.
Sound: 7
The music was fine, but I didn't find it extraordinary or anything.
Character: 7
The characters were interesting, but were not relatable at all.
I've had times when I was feeling the sense of it just being better to let go
I've also had times when people I loved moved away from me for the same reasons as in this movie, but...
...I can't find myself in any of the characters.
Enjoyment: 6
I really wish it was as good as I've been told it was. I'm disappointed in the lack of character progression
and not being able to find myself in the feet of the characters that were supposed to be relatable.
Overall: 7
It's really not that good as people say it is, and I couldn't enjoy it. Maybe I've been just hyped up too much about it, but I doubt that.
Overall, it's not a bad movie.
