Excepting some of the stuff that's been on my list longer, I spend a lot of time trying to properly rank an anime. So feel free to question me on rankings, or solicit opinions on a show. I also love older art styles and enjoy more suspenseful plots
Don't worry about Link Click, the visual might gives you some false impressions but the real show is very different. If anything, it's pretty much of fanon interpretation.
About Lazarus, it seems mediocre after only two eps by leaning quite a lot on styles and actions. I enjoyed those scenes yet distinguished it from real substance. The plot feels like your typical trope the hero party's about to chase the main villain, and this manipulative big bad somehow gets away with his shenanigans until being defeated in the last episode.
One Anime I found similar to it: https://myanimelist.net/anime/31163/Dimension_W
I see where you were coming from. Tbh, I'm not a fan of the Fate series from the get-go and I used to have lots of difficulties grasping its concept and world-building. Most of Fate stuff you saw on this site like FGO or Fate Apocrypha are either side stories or derivaties, the mainline of Fate Anime only includes the adaptation of Fate Zero LN and Fate Stay Night VN.
Oh, I also want to mention Madoka Magica, the third one of Gen Urobuchi trio. It's an 12-ep original anime, which is very action-packed and dense with awesome twists and outstanding visuals.
Another must-try one is Link Click, a Chinese show but also has JP dub. The story features time travel plot like Steins;Gate, some interesting detective stuff similar to Psycho-Pass, and movingly heartfelt drama resembling Erased or Violet.
lmao I actually recommended Houseki to every people I met who asked for a psychological and philosophical manga. It's great that the story clicks you this much.
I see you re-watching Psycho-Pass, dope show without a doubt. And, perhaps may I know why you had Fate Zero subpar score? Since it's also written by Gen Urobuchi, the same creator of Psycho-Pass.
NGNL is a weird case considering the high sales of the LN. I suppose the reason is that the producer decided to skip volumes 4 and 5 and went straight to adapt volume 6. So now, it's quite awkward to make the continuation.
Houseki Studio - Orange likely went all out for Beastars, and currently Trigun, apparently they don't have sufficient human resources to handle this project. Welp, if shows like Panty Stocking eventually got a ss2 announcement after 15 years, then it's prob just a matter of time before we seeing the approval for Houseki, next year perhaps.
Hi, thanks for reaching out! You can find more answers here https://myanimelist.net/blog/Cyrose. Also, I rate mostly based on enjoyment, than on creativity = writing then animation and metaphors and massages the story tolds. These all together are crucial view points for me and makes either + or - in the terminated score. Each anime starts with 10/10 New animes can drop 8 to 10 point in just a few minutes, but I gave 3 episodes usually to give out a score. Old animes are way better.
Sorry if this feels like a rant but to me, Houseki prob has one of the most unique and fresh story in the anime/manga medium. It starts off as an anthropomorphic fantasy adventure that basically "Let's defeat our enemy", kinda like AoT, but the character development, story direction, and thematic nuance differ greatly later on. Somewhat philosophical, thought-provoking, metaphorical yet the presentation was very organic and natural.
Not to mention the top-notch visual too. For the Anime, it's not exaggerated to say Houseki is currently the best full-fledged CGI Anime. Btw, I see you gave Ghost in The Shell Innocence a 9, the blend of 3D model, 2D animation, CG in this movie is so smooth, and personally, I think Houseki kinda offers something of similar quality or even better. Regarding the Manga, the clever framing structure and delicate artstyle that utilizes negative space gave it a surreal experience.
Still, it's just my opinion in the end. But it's undeniable that the show is totally worth watching.

A bit of infodump in case you have very few ideas about Fate. Fate/Stay Night originated from the Visual Novel with the same name written by Kinoko Nasu. There're some similarities at the beginning until the story starts branching off into entirely different paths. And depending on the female MC you choose, you get to experience one of the 3 routes: Saber for Fate route, Rin for UBW route, Sakura for Heaven's Feel route.
Well, the game actually forces you to go with Saber first, then Rin, and finally Sakura. Both were adapted into Anime, Studio Deen took on Fate, and ufotable's in charge of the other two. Mind you, the Deen one screwed up a lot because it borrowed some contents from other routes, Deen also adapted the UBW movie but it sucked too.
Urobuchi is a close bud to Nasu so Nasu gave Uro the right to write Fate/Zero, which is considered to be an acceptable canon for the prequel of Fate/Stay Night.
Plenty of fans suggest people to watch Fate/Zero last but from my perspective, due to the lack of exposition in the Anime format compared to its VN counterpart, it's better to start with Fate/Zero first, then UBW, and the final one is Heaven's Feel.

Any plan to watch/read Houseki no Kuni?
