I remember stumbling upon this on kissmanga and reading it a long time ago, and happened to stumble upon it again except instead of 3 chapters there were all 25ish.

This series had so much potential and was genuinely a good romance/psychological/horror story. But of course, it's always the hidden gems that get fucking axed.

The ending is rushed quite a lot and the story begins to lose it's charm towards the end as well. The psychological and horror feel slowly fizzles out, while the romance is dialed way up, but that's to be expected when the author is trying to scrape together a coherent ending as ... his work is forcibly put to an end.


Would reccomend giving it a try, but can't give it a rating higher than 6 due to the unfortunate rushed ending.

Since the anime is out in a week, I thought it would be a good time to write some thoughts on the manga.

First off, an important thing to note! 90% of harem romcoms are absolute trash! You can see I've given this one an 8/10, but obviously that doesn't mean it's an incredibly well written tale that will see global success. No, it's just a genuinely good, funny, and not-cancerous harem manga, which is rare!

The characters are all believable and have their own quirks and personalities. The main character isn't insufferable on either end of the spectrum (being too passive and virgin/being too cold and ... ruthless). The girls are all likeable for the most part.

The author is extremely self aware when writing this manga which creates some very funny jokes. Tropes are subverted and made fun of, but still done quite well.

Plot is somewhat slice-of-lifey (they're running a cafe) with occasional plot points that come up. The overall story is finding out which girl he ends up with, and though I can't confirm anything, I hear murmors of a possible harem ending or multiple route ending? Not sure since I've never read any of the author's other works, but I hear he's a seasoned veteran when it comes to writing romcoms.

Overall, it's a solid 8/10 romcom harem. Read it and enjoy it, don't over-analyze or dissect. If the anime has a good production budget, I can easily see a 7.7 - 8.1 rating.

It has been ages since I've read Nisekoi, and I barely remember what happened in the story.

But it's extremely problematic that what I do remember is the harem crap was dragged out and ruined the comedy the series originally had going, and Onodera should've won but the author dragged the series on longer than my balls across his face, and cucked out to Chitoge simps. Gotta love it!

Yes, I'm still salty. But do I have a right to be, like any reader of this constantly degenerating series? Yes, why yes I do.

Though props where props are due, Nisekoi started off better than like 90% of ... japanese manga anime romcom/harems, and ended only slightly worse than most of them. And yeah, most manga anime romcom/harems are trash.

Don't get me wrong, this isn't a bad show. But I've seen enough anime to where I can tell where the plot/schtick of the series was gonna go, and a quick google search confirmed it as well. If you're lookin for a brain-off gag anime based on the guy being a chuuni and OP and hiding his identity while accidentally building a harem, go for it. It sticks in that pocket and doesn't try to be anything else, which for some people might be a good thing. For me, it just got boring real fast.

Animation and whatnot ain't that bad though rather generic. Soundtrack ... is whatever.

But yeah, if you feel like you've heard of this premise a million times, skip it. You'll get bored and drop it like I did.

To clarify, this isn't a masterpiece or anything that special. But for what it is trying to do, it's pretty decent. A short bite-sized casual read about a self insert main character and his yandere chick.
Also, apparently there's a "bonus" chapter on nhentai...
So if you're ever bored and need a short read, this is a valid time killer. Just don't go in expecting something that it isn't. Take it for what it is, and enjoy it!

Story isn't too unique, and the art is alright (tho well done for the girl). Not much plot, it's almost sort of slice of lifey.

Probably one of the funniest manga, or pieces of media, I've ever consumed... until a certain point. The final arcs of the story just dragggg on forever, and as someone who read it after the series was done, I can only imagine how boring it must have been for the weekly release readers.
And worst of all, the author either decided to get revenge, or got axed, or both. The way the series ends is probably one of the worst endings I've ever seen in manga/anime ever. You thought Attack on Titan was bad? This takes the fuckin cake.

But I'm still gonna have to give ... it an 8, because everything up till that point was amazing. And I highly reccomend this series, everyone should experience the joy and pain it brings.

"Cindy-Uchiha" is an example of a contrarian. Someone who notices the spiking popularity in a new movie, anime, manga, whatever, and decides to go into it getting ready to hate on it.

Anyone who reads this manga with an open mind will have to agree it deserves nothing less than a 7. It simply does not. So to give it a 5, meaning it's on par with literal mid shounen like Bleach and Fairy Tail (and surprisingly he has Bleach as one of his favorites) is just a joke. And to have Devilman Crybaby as a 8 and this at a 5? What?

This review might ... seem like an attack on a reviewer. Maybe I just seem salty. The answer to both is "sure, so what?" It takes away nothing from the point I am trying to make.

Chainsaw Man definitely has some weak points. Yes, it's world-building isn't the most incredible you'll ever read and yes, the plot isn't the most incredible thing you'll ever read.
But is it an extremely creative take on a shounen battle manga?
Does it have some really cool characters with actual depth and development?
Does it have some really cool designs and plot progression?
Is it still ongoing meaning it has time to iron out some of its weaknesses?
THE ANSWER TO ALL THAT IS A RESOUNDING YES.

Do not let people who have decided to hate on the new cultural-phenomenon-of-a-shounen sway you from picking this masterpiece up. Give it a try, don't set your expectations too high or low. Be honest with it, and enjoy the fucking ride it is.

Up until these last couple of episodes, OreImo was just a rather good otaku/comedy/romance anime. It wasn't anything to write home about, but it wasn't absolute garbage either.

Then these 3 special episodes happened.

Now, if you were rooting for any of the girls aside from the sister, you're probably fucking mad.
If you're against incest in media, you're probably fucking mad.
If you haven't seen the anime but copy+paste Twitter takes, you're probably fucking mad.

It was certainly a bold choice to end the series with the blood related sister being the winner, and then having them "break up" (spoiler: they don't actually break up read between the fucking ... lines moron). But anyone who didn't expect the sister to win clearly didn't read the title of the show.

Now, all that being said.
This show would've been a high 6 or a low 7. But due to just how influential these last 3 episodes were in terms of revolutionizing incest in modern day anime. In terms of the memes and shitposts it generated. In terms of the pure raw unfiltered emotions it created online.
The author must've done something right.
And I had the time of my life laughing at the copium people were inhaling online.

This series is an absolute masterpiece to me, and I am completely aware that 90% of people wouldn't agree. I wouldn't recommend this anime to most people.
But I do not care, the amount of enjoyment I got out of it warrants a 10. And at the end of the day, I watch anime for myself.
