First of all, this manga is not for everyone! the plot unfolds slowly and the characters may not seem relatable to most people.
Story 8/10
Aku no Hana is nothing original and this setting was done few times before but its unique to the point that its worth reading (at least for me). This story is split up into two parts with the first half covering Kasuga's life in middle school and his forced "love life" with his classmate, story itself develops in very slow and heavy segments which takes its time to set up the mood which may turn off some readers or make them drop
...
it. The other half is focused on Kasuga's life in high school post time skip and in different city where he is trying to become better person. And the last (bonus) chapter is focusing on Nakamura's perspective of her first meeting with Kasuga.
Art 9/10
I enjoyed the art of this manga, it wasn't something amazing but it had its own style and it kept it till the end with the ending being kind of different from the rest of the manga, ending showed us the perspective of one of the main characters Nakamura where we can see who she really was and how she felt.
(anime adaptation has also cool art style)
Characters 10/10
Characters as I said may not seem as relatable as in most manga, right away, in the first chapter you get to know this crazy anarchist character known as Nakamura that seems a bit out of place (or rather stupidly perverted?), without telling us how or why she is like that, and then you have this male protagonist that may come off as a cliché at first but then develops an unique character, Kasuga has a crush on a girl and is forced to make a contract with another girl in order to (escape) his home town.
Enjoyment 9/10
I enjoyed this manga a lot, mostly the second part where it starts to get a bit faster pace, As I said this manga is not for everyone and it was like that the whole time, I knew that before reading it and after I read it I can see why.
Overall 9/10
With all its flaws and mistakes this manga made, I for sure recommend this manga to anyone that is looking for some unique story.
