They had gone to a Modest Mouse show while MM was touring in Japan, and saw Eric afterwards on the street and asked him to name their band. So he wrote "OGRE YOU ASSHOLE" on the drummer's arm.
Eventually another American band told them that their name was a reference to "Revenge of the Nerds" They opened for Modest Mouse a few years later, but Eric Judy couldn't remember that happening. |
