She specializes in Scat singing. We owe her all of the melodies of Saint Seiya composed by Seiji Yokoyama for the animated series of 1986 and the first 5 films. Until 1971 she continued studying music at the famous University of Kunitachi, which trained many renowned Japanese artists such as Seiji Yokoyama, the famous composer of Saint Seiya, or Joe Hisaihi from Ghibli. Freshly graduated, she began a career at the NHK (famous Japanese TV channel). Later she is spotted by Hiroshi Miyagawa, who asks her to interpret her chants for the Japanese series 'phenomenon' of the 70s, Uchuu Senkan Yamato (or Space Battleship Yamato). In Japan, she is much more recognized for her participation on Space Battleship Yamato than on Saint Seiya. |
