The 12th and final episode of Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun 2 (Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun Season 2) announced a sequel following its broadcast on Sunday, scheduled to air on 28 TBS affiliate stations on Sundays at 4:30 p.m. beginning in July 2025. Iro Aida, the original creator, drew a teaser visual for the sequel (pictured).

Produced by Lerche, the second season adapting Aida's supernatural comedy manga began airing on January 12, roughly covering up to the 12th volume. Crunchyroll simulcasted it with multiple subtitles and subs.

The 12-episode first season premiered in Winter 2020. Funimation streamed the anime with subtitles and an English dub, later releasing it on Blu-ray in February 2021.

The Houkago Shounen Hanako-kun (After-School Hanako-kun) television anime adapting Aida's spin-off manga aired in four episodes in Fall 2023, followed by a second part in Fall 2024. Crunchyroll streamed the spin-off anime with subtitles and an English dub.

GFantasy began serializing the original manga in June 2014. Square Enix released the 23rd volume in December 2024. Aida began drawing the spin-off manga on Pixiv Comic's PFantapy web magazine in February 2018. The second volume went on sale in February 2024. Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun has a cumulative 10 million copies of its volumes in print.

Yen Press licensed the manga in English in July 2017 and published the 21st volume on January 21, with the 22nd volume planned for a July 22 release. The publisher licensed the spin-off manga in November 2020 and released the first volume in April 2021. Square Enix also digitally publishes both the original and spin-off manga in English through its Manga UP! Service.

Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun 2 2nd Season on MAL

@RippleLover The site rules are wrong, is my point. "Spy x Family S2 Part 2, same production as part 1" shouldn't be an independent entry, nor should this.

@TheSmug1 Because it's a different entry in broadcast, literally read the site rules before complaining, yikes.

@TheSmug1 Well, a couple of shows like ReZero season 3 are still listed as one show even though they had long gaps between cours.

@RobertBobert Seems that way. Of course, MAL would rather have multiple entries for the same season of an anime that's split cour than a single entry. For some reason.

Judging by the speed, it was a split cour?
