The 12th and final episode of the Tsue to Tsurugi no Wistoria (Wistoria: Wand and Sword) television anime ended with an announcement on Sunday that a second season is in production.

Produced by Actas and Bandai Namco Pictures, the first season adapting Fujino Omori and Toshi Aoi's action fantasy manga began airing on July 7. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime with subtitles and dubs in multiple languages.

Bessatsu Shounen Magazine began serializing the manga in December 2020. Kodansha published the tenth volume on June 7.

Omori penned the Tsue to Tsurugi no Wistoria Grimo Acta: Hajimari no Namida (Wistoria's Wand and Sword Grimo Acta) prequel light novel on July 14, featuring illustrations by Yuunagi.

Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English in November 2021 and released the eighth volume on August 13. The ninth volume is planned for a May 27, 2025 release. Kodansha's K Manga service also simulpubs the manga in English.

Synopsis
Will Serfort dreams of keeping his promise to a childhood friend by becoming a Magia Vander, one of the mighty magicians who sit atop the Wizard's Tower. However, he is unable to cast even the simplest of spells, leaving him to fight dungeon monsters to earn credits at Regarden Magical Academy. As if that weren't enough, he finds himself putting his sword skills to the test against a bullying professor! (Source: Kodansha USA)

I didn't think this would be announced so soon (the manga isn't that far ahead) but welcome news nonetheless.

Huge. This was the most "fuck you I liked it" show of the season.

I hope this doesn't mean the fans of GuP and PP have to wait even longer for the rest of the movies to be made.

@Swagernator what i meant is that they get a better production schedule, since they delayed an episode a week late because of production issues

How similar is this to the author's original work?

Awesome news, I love it when a sequel is announced right after a show ends.

This has been a top notch action show and sometimes some hype action is satisfactory enough for me. Can't wait for more of this.
