Key released a demo version of the visual novel in April 2018 before releasing the complete game in June of that year. The game was ported to iOS and Android platforms in December 2018 and to Nintendo Switch in June 2019. Visual Arts published the game in English on Steam last February.
An updated version titled Summer Pockets: Reflection Blue featuring new routes and content was released in June 2020. Software company Prototype published the game on Nintendo Switch in July of the same month. The smartphone version on iOS and Android devices were subsequently updated to include the new content.
Based on the original concept by Jun Maeda (Angel Beats!, Clannad), Kai (Harmonia, Rewrite: Cradles Tale) directed the visual novel. Kai, Hasama (Tokyo Babel), and Yuu Niijima (Hatsuyuki Sakura) penned the scenarios.
Na-Ga (Little Busters!), Tsubasu Izumi (Akane Iro ni Somaru Saka), Yuunon Nagayama (Hatsukoi*Syndrome), and Humuyun (Lunaria: Virtualized Moonchild) are credited for the original character design.

Don't worry my fellow anime friends. The RB Will be adapted. Remember key previous anime like Clannad and little Buster? They do full version of the visual novel. I wish that Will happen to 🗿

@TiagoCosta I'm willing to wait as long as I can if it guarantees a good anime. It’s just that Key has recently gone into some kind of anime shadow along with Dengeki Bunko and this has made me feel uncomfortable due to the loss of my favorite anime sources.

@RobertBobert They had news back in June, announcing the staff, showing the teaser trailer/KV and.. today's event.
Also explained why it took so long then, they didn't want to give it to just anyone and if you know feel they don't take too many projects at once. Not that long ago something by this particular director + feel ended having years until some news (Remake Our Life!).
On today's event, during the interview they said they have been working on the anime since 2022 which is after the anime announcement.

God! Is this project still alive?! I was already starting to fear that Key had decided to call it quits and we would, at most, get an adaptation of some of their mobile projects, if we saw them at all.
@Inorichi This isn't necessarily the last reveal of the supporting cast. Although Key in general usually ignores additional routes in adaptation.
@GoldenDevilGamer If their past adaptations have taught me anything, then most likely we will get a full adaptation + OVAS with additional routes if it is popular enough.

Yeah... we're prob not getting the RB routes adapted. Tbh, most of them aren't anything too amazing, but Shiki's easily my fav character in the VN. This anime will probably be a two-cour adaptation of the base game stuff, and maybe we could get a one-cour adaptation of the RB routes later down the line (similar to how they adapted Little Busters with the EX OVAs).

where’s my girl shiki

Shiki not being in the additional cast… It’s gotta be a plot. A surprise reveal. If theres no RB content, the SP anime wont even be a contender for top key anime no matter how good the adaptation is
