'Mayonaka Punch' Reveals Additional Cast, Staff, Second Promo

The official website for the Mayonaka Punch original television anime revealed additional cast, staff, key visual (pictured), the theme songs, and second promotional video on Sunday. The anime is scheduled to premiere on July 8 at 10:30 p.m. on Tokyo MX and AT-X, followed by BS11, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, and Tulip TV.

Chika Anzai (Hibike! Euphonium) and Reina Kondou (Horimiya) are joining the cast as Kikka and Otomi, respectively.

The opening theme "Gimme Gimme" is performed by Fairouz Ai, Yuina Itou, Hina Youmiya, Hitomi Ueda, and Ai Kayano as their characters. Ikumi Hasegawa performs the ending theme "Henshuu-ten." The opening theme is previewed in the promotional video below.

Shuu Honma (Paripi Koumei) is helming the anime at P.A. Works. Hideaki Shirasaka (Paripi Koumei script) is handling the series composition, and Ryouta Arima is designing the characters.

So, in the end, this is not a show about internet celebrities, but something about vampires in the spirit of VLAD LOVE? Or some kind of mix of this?

@Curiouswanderer I understand your concerns, although I find the mention of Kobayashi redundant. But this is PAWORKS, so it's unlikely to be a jus generic CGDCT. Not to mention the unusual visual style.

@Yubisoft Was this a subtle hint that people would only come here for the waifus and yuri bait?

@EcchiGodMamster I won’t speculate about yuri bait, but shows about the super duper friendship of two BFFs have always been around quite a lot, especially recently after the popularity of Licorice Recall. It even seems that after the popularity of licorice, now every second studio is trying to make its own original internet-friendly show about passionate female friendship.

I hope it’s a decent show that’s not all about “just cute girls doing cute things”. I hope it’s more of a show like “Bocchi the rock” and “Miss Kobayashis dragon maid”

Oh I am sure people will watch this for the plot just like what happened with Metallic Rouge which was very "good" in terms of plot quality .....
