@Phlaryx It would be awesome if the movies had their own story

@waalex11 At 18 eps, they'll be adapting 5-6 chapters of the manga per ep, which is about average for modern anime productions.

dunno what you two are saying but the 18 episodes will have more contents than the 2 movies... the 2 movies are pretty much the compilation movies

This should've been a TV version since the start. Still not sure why they went with the movie format to begin with lol.

I'ma be honest, I'm worried about the pacing. It's a 100-chapter manga that's full of dialogue, don't know if 2 movies/18 episodes can do it justice.

My favourite manga, and I thought I will be able to see the adaptation only in a few years, it made my day

@malvarez1 Not only them, this is the third anime in the last couple of years, which is a TV version of an originally theatrical anime. There are probably even more of them, that is, this is a kind of reverse version of recap movies.

Heck yeah! Inio Asano's manga deserves this treatment.
Very excited for this!

I picture it as the 18 episodes being the actual series and the 2 movies serving as recap movies, but this time it’s as if they released the recap movies before the tv series lol. Once the 18 episodes come out, there really isn’t any point in watching the 2 movies since the 18 episodes will have more content adapted.

@waalex11 18 episodes of 20 minutes is more runtime than the original 2 hours per movie, so it will be a fuller adaptation than the movies.

May 20, 10:24 PM by Zimzky

Didn't Crunchy do this with the Digimon Tri movies?

May 20, 9:04 PM by malvarez1

@Mystogan14579
Exactly. So it still won't be a full adaptation, lol. What a shame.

May 20, 9:00 PM by waalex11

I've never been this excited with anticipation for an adaptation like this, can't wait.

May 20, 8:58 PM by Zedlin

@waalex11 prolly gonna be a compilation with additional scenes like Sand Land.

May 20, 8:06 PM by Mystogan14579

I still feel like it'll be condensed... couldn't they just do a full series with more episodes?
I doubt 18 episodes is enough, lol.

May 20, 7:48 PM by waalex11

Ohh it's like Sand Land the series.
Nice!!
I'm glad it's not on Disney+

May 20, 7:14 PM by davidyodo24

Nice, and hopefully it can get the Sand Land treatment and get a dub immediately.

May 20, 5:25 PM by Mystogan14579

Will MAL have a separate entry for this, considering it will have new content?

May 20, 5:24 PM by AniMarter

Heck yeah, finally

May 20, 5:24 PM by Macaroon17

So we can just watch this instead of waiting for the movies to be released, right?
