The 12th and final episode of the Ishura television anime announced a second season following its broadcast on Wednesday. The official website revealed a teaser visual (pictured) and an annoucement promo.

The first season produced by Passione premiered on January 3. Disney+ simulcast the anime worldwide and Hulu streamed it in the US.

Ishura adapts Keiso's action fantasy light novel, which originally began on the Kakuyomu website in June 2017, followed by Shousetsuka ni Narou the following month. Kadokawa began publishing the series with illustrations by Kureta under its Dengeki no Shin Bungei label in September 2019. The ninth volume shipped on February 16.

A manga adaptation by Meguri began serializing in Monthly Shounen Magazine in March 2021. Kodansha released the third volume in December 2023.

Yen Press licensed the light novel in English in September 2021 and shipped the fifth volume on December 2023. The sixth volume is scheduled to go on sale on March 26.

Synopsis
In a world where the Demon King has died, a host of demigods capable of felling him have inherited the world. A master fencer who can figure out how to take out their opponents with a single glance; a lancer so swift they can break the sound barrier; a wyvern rogue who fights with three legendary weapons at once; an all-powerful wizard who can speak thoughts into being; an angelic assassin who deals instant death. Eager to attain the title of "True Hero," these champions each pursue challenges against formidable foes and spark conflicts among themselves. The battle to determine the mightiest of the mighty begins. (Yen Press)

@postblitz Not even gonna lie, this series is doing so much I like but so much I abhor at the same time to the point where I'm hoping the next season comes now so I can get it over with and enjoy it.

Glad we got more of this.

@RobertBobert Hulu used to be really popular among anime fans in America, but not anymore for various reasons, so almost every anime Hulu has gotten (Bleach is the exception) doesn't seem to get nearly the attention of the average Crunchyroll, Netflix or even HiDive show. Undead Unluck was another victim that presumably would have had way more discussion on Crunchyroll (not that I want a monopoly or anything).

@malvarez1 I hear this a lot about a variety of shows. Does this really reduce the hype that much?

I feel like being on Hulu killed discussions in America, because I didn't see anyone talking about it.

I wish all good shows had such an abrupt sequel announcement.

Naturally to then give each studio enough time to produce. Ah, the dreams of dreams.

Expected considering how long of an introduction we got.

Hopefully they cook and not rush it, that CGI from ep 1 still gives me goosebumps lol...
