'Dosanko Gal wa Namara Menkoi' Announces Additional Cast

The Jump Super Stage Blue at Jump Festa 2024 announced the additional cast for the Dosanko Gal wa Namara Menkoi (Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!) television anime on Sunday. The anime is scheduled to premiere on January 9 at 12:30 a.m. on TV Tokyo, TV Hokkaido, and BS TV Tokyo.

Takayumi Matsuo: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (5-toubun no Hanayome)
Momoko Fuyuki: Rika Nagae (Asobi Asobase)
Mai Fuyuki: Eri Kitamura (Mayo Chiki!)
Asuka: Mariko Nagai (Boku no Hero Academia 2nd Season)
Hina: Yurika Kubo (Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai)

Misuzu Hoshino (Saikin Yatotta Maid ga Ayashii) is directing the television anime at Silver Link. and Blade. Mirai Minato (Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai! director) is the chief director and is handling the series composition. Katsuyuki Satou (Mamahaha no Tsurego ga Motokano datta) is the character designer. Sounosuke Takao (Mask Danshi wa Koishitakunai noni) is composing the music.

Kai began serializing the romantic comedy manga on Shueisha's Shounen Jump+ app and website in September 2019. The ninth volume was released on November 4. Shueisha began publishing the manga in English on their Manga Plus app and website in September 2020.

@Fabris Personally, she reminded me more of a gyaru version of a tomboy or childhood friend. Sure, she has some stereotypical anime gyaru habits, but this is a story about a provincial gyaru, so she's far from a trendy chicks in the metropolitan sense of the word. But divide my words in two, I haven’t read this manga for several years and I might be confusing something.

Sono Bisque Doll truly revived Gyaru/Kogal archetype in romcoms, didn't it?

I mean, I'm fine with that. Overall much better than the overly used and copy-pasted tsundere-yandere-kkudere triangle. As well as the osana-nijimi/childhood friend secretly in love trope.

BTW, about this gyaru...exactly how's she fares in personality? We had the otaku gyaru Marin, the slightly mean but underneath it romantic Akari, and messed up Luna, so far.

@EcchiGodMamster If they are going to seriously take on the whole gyaru rom-com scene, then we will soon be able to vote for the best gyaru anime with playoffs and semi-finals.
