One day he runs into a visitor to the small area and she introduces him to a sport that can really make a ball take to flight: golf! It just takes one shot and Gawain is hooked. With his grandpa's approval he sets off to Tokyo with this mysterious woman to learn all he can about golf, encountering many colorful characters and obstacles along the way. (Source: mangatraders)

When I woke up this morning and heard this news, I thought I was dreaming.

I've loved this manga since it was serialized in magazines in real time. I think it is my favorite golf manga. If I had my wish, I would have wanted it to be made into an anime when it was serialized.

Maybe Kongo Bancho will get anime someday.

BTW this is /ss/ - Gawain is 10 and his love interest Kiria is 21.

Just in time for Jump's new golf manga....

But seriously, I've never watched a golf anime, so I'll watch this, even though I'm not exactly the biggest 7DS fan.

@wildhood Including yes. The author of Konosuba received adaptations of 2 or 3 of his past or spin-off works due to the popularity of Konosuba.

@RobertBobert In this case, Rising Impact is getting an anime probably because it's by the same mangaka who created Nanatsu no Taizai, which was successful, so they decided to animate his earlier work because of Nanatsu no Taizai's success.

@wildhood This is Netflix Japan. They give a second chance to many old or new works that missed their opportunity to become a seasonal show.

lol. A manga that ended 21 years ago is finally getting an anime adaptation? Better late than never. Still waiting for that Psyren anime adaptation tho.
