'Deatte 5-byou de Battle' Manga Gets TV Anime Adaptation

Shogakukan announced a television anime adaptation of Saizou Harawata and Miyako Kashiwa's Deatte 5-byou de Battle (Battle in 5 seconds after meeting.) manga on Thursday. The publisher also opened an official website, revealing a teaser visual (pictured above).

Synopsis
It was just a usual morning.

Akira Shiroyanagi, a high schooler who loves games and Konpeito (Japanese sweets), has suddenly been dragged into a battlefield by a mysterious girl who calls herself Mion. The participants are told that they are "erased from the family register, involved in an experiment, and gained certain powers."

Akira is determined to win the game with his newfound powers and destroy the organization. Armed with a power no one expects and his "brain" skills, the new period of intelligence battle begins! (Source: MU, edited)

Harawata originally published the super power battle action manga on the FC2 blog in 2012. Kashiwa (Shinmai Maou no Testament manga) began drawing a remake on the Ura Sunday web manga platform in August 2015. Shogakukan shipped the 14th volume on June 18, with the 15th volume scheduled for a November 19 release. Deatte 5-byou de Battle has a cumulative 2 million copies of its volumes in print.

Takuya Eguchi (Makai Ouji: Devils and Realist) and Minami Tsuda (Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku) previously voiced Akira Shiroyanagi and Yuuri Amakage in promotional videos for the manga, respectively.

Well, as far as I could remember, there isn't much fanservice in it as it is mostly focused in fighting (I think?). But it's been a long time since I last read the manga so I may be wrong though. Just don't get your hopes up too high. :\

well hey, all my favorite anime are about girls fighting so if theres plenty of that, i guess its ok if its not super fansericey, although super fansercey + girls fighting is my favorite combo

It's interesting to see that it seems like battle royale is popular again. I thought people started complaining too much about this trend 3 or 4 years ago.

@EcchiGodMamster It doesn't really look like ecchi, but a cursory search revealed it has at least 5-6 more female and 1 male characters.

Don't know about you guys, but I enjoyed the manga.

Yeah the manga is really fun (not caught up for a while). Very hyped for it as the manga is really good. Really hope the studio is good.

Interesting. I like a good mind games story. Might give the manga a try.

Edit: The score on the manga page is questionable. It can't be that bad, right?

I've read the manga pretty far back then, and I have to say I'm pretty hyped to see how the anime adaptation turns out.
