A Nico Live broadcast for the Tsugumomo TV anime held on Wednesday announced a second season for next year titled Tsugu Tsugumomo. Zero-G will continue producing the anime while Ryouichi Kuraya will reprise his roles as director and in series composition. The production for an OVA, which is uncensored, is also planned and crowdfunding will be held from March 7 to April 26. It will be 10 minutes in length and bundled with a manga volume to be released next year.

Tsugumomo is drawn by Yoshikazu Hamada, and began serialization in November 2007 in COMIC SEED! web magazine. Serialization was transferred to WEB Comic High! magazine in August 2008 due to the former discontinuing in June 2008. The series later moved to Monthly Action magazine with the first issue in May 2013 as a result of Futabasha integrating all of its web comic magazines into one (WEB Comic Action). Futabasha has published 22 volumes of the manga as of last November. The first season, produced by Zero-G, aired for 12 episodes in Spring 2017. An uncensored Blu-ray collection will be released on August 7.

I think I'm gonna watch the first season blu-ray ver first now.

Didnt see that coming, I finished the anime recently and tbh it wasnt really entertaining and had some boring parts. Will watch the sequel anyways, because if its only 1 EP a week I wont mind.

Of all the things I thought I'd see getting a sequel, this was not it.

"Uncensored"... so we are going that way. Doesn't suprise me, because I always had that cheap aftertaste of desperation and virginity, when I watched that show. But glad to see, that something is getting a second chance after more than one season. Son't know why of all the better things this would deserve a revival, but hey, we live in a anime world where even hentai can have a better narrative than a "normal" TV anime...

So you're telling me... that some shit show with horrible BD sales gets a sequel, yet many very well sold and asked for sequels (from both the western and Japanese market) never get one.....?

Some secret rich lolicon is behind this, obviously...

I don't have high expectations for this sales wise as i already dropped the manga
so yes Im not a fan of where the manga went the first half was awesome tho.

Yes! I was hoping Tsugumomo could someday get a sequel and the announcement I saw on Oozora's twitter about the nico nico stream was the OVA announcement, but also a second season. Time to eat some 🍮🍮

I’ve only read the manga and not watched the anime yet but this is great news. Can’t wait to see all the uncensored animated glory.

welp. i won't be buying season 2 from Funi after they butchered season 1.

What happened with Funi? Did they censor it?

They used censored TV broadcast materials in the blu ray release and claimed innocence that the Japanese studio didn't give them the uncensored episodes. Maybe Funimation shouldn't have pushed a censored copy to disc, this isn't their first rodeo, they should know better.

i'm actually really glad it got a sequel. although i haven't watched the first season, if anyone is actually still interested enough to keep watching till the second, hopefully this season gets them into the manga. cause if this reaches 'that' arc, tsugumomo will get a little bit more attention than before

Never expected this to get a sequel, but it was pretty entertaining to pass the time so I'm looking forward to it.

While this is surprising due to how the first season didn't do that amazing in sales, it's also not completely surprising because the manga is doing rather well.

This series is pretty classic in formula but still feels fresh, which makes it very welcome.

I'm definitely hype.

Thanks for clarifying.

Yes the anime finished when the action and story was in it's peak, I got curious what will happen but I've no time right now read the manga, glad a sequel will be granted.

@akihikosama I'm sorry it's not clear enough. I've fixed that part.
