This manga's sense of humor is exactly the same as my sense of humor. I went into this thinking that it was going to be pretty lame, but I like reading Evangelion spin-off manga, so I figured it would be worth checking out. Reviews on other sites lead me to believe that this was a failure of a comedy manga, but I laughed out loud at least once a chapter.

Some of my favorite bits include: NERV stands for National gamER coVenant, Shinji writes a haiku about using Asuka's toothbrush, Kaworu happily sleeps in a locker, and Rei receives a comical amount of favoritism. A lot ...

Overall a great parody manga for those who want to see the classic Evangelion characters in amusing situations, but still in what is nominally their original context (i.e. still training to defeat Angels by learning to pilot mechas rather than living a regular school life, as with the Shinji Ikari Raising Project).

Humour can be somewhat lowbrow (which is par for the course for a gag manga), but the various jabs at the ludicrousness of the premise of the original show, certain exaggerated character traits, and peculiarities of Japanese culture in general are executed fairly well and to a generally higher standard than most comic ...
