Both are about LN writing, although they are about different parts of the process. They have a different style and type of humour, but both are enjoyable and are not too serious. I suppose if you have an itch for more light novel writing stuff in a manga, these will fill the same niche. 

Both manga show people in the Japanese Manga/novel publishing industry. 

Both have a similar sketch-like comedy in it and the two MCs show somehow twisted personalities 

They both have light novels involved. While Kin no Tamago is about slice-of-life, comedy of an editor in the light novel industry, Shitayomi danshi to toukou joshi is about an aspiring high school girl who wanted to publish a light novel and improve her writing with the help of a high school boy. The latter, I thought it was good and it's completely translated and only one book.
