Also sometimes labelled as a splatter, the main focus of the manga is well the blood, guts and dismembered body parts. Shock is a key element of this genre. Movies such as the SAW series are famous for the difficult-to-watch torture sequences, but what a bout the manga? This list is compiled of some of the most gory manga I have seen that aren't pornographic.   As the title says, these are manga that focus on a male protagonist that seeks revenge. Whether fantasy or a modern setting, these center on blackened main characters who, after having their morals tainted, aim to exact revenge on those who wronged them. Often, these series feature gratuitous gore.   Not for the faint hearted. These are manga series that will put your physical and emotional endurance to test.   Series with a prison setting/theme, either institutional jails or informal, DIY prisons.     Manga that features twisted characters with toxic behaviors. Some are serious psychological stories that dives deep into toxic behaviors in a way that isn’t glamorized, while others are edgy trash that are just fun to read if you’re in that mood. I’ll tag them as “serious” or “edgy” in the descriptions of each manga.  Dark/horror, moving, depressing/physchological, romantic, evil. These works include various elements such as: tidy exposure, full-frontal nudity, extremely weird fetish, NTR, torture, gore, slaughter, etc. Characters are usually depicted as being mentally unhinged and would likely commit appalling atrocities on a whim. This is a stack of Disturbing and Messed Up Manga, ranging anything from Violence and Murder to Blackmailing, to Stalking and more.
