Mystery manga that contain supernatural/mythological/folklore beings. May only make mention of these things or may actually be set in a world where they're real. "Beings" includes creatures, spirits, youkai, gods e.t.c. People with supernatural powers are not included.

Only series focusing on or centred around said beings have been added. Only the first entry has been added if it's part of a series and manga only.

On the card. Mangas that are based on magical/mysterious shops.

Most of them are horror, but there are some exceptions, so I had to put the word in brackets.

Non-horror manga on the list:
- Death Note
- Kuroshitsuji
- Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro

Sequels are not included.

Includes manga with creatures from legends (e.g. youkai), or stories that rely heavily on myths/mythical themes for the plot (so no slice-of-life comedies that just happen to have inhuman characters, for example). Ghosts, zombies, werewolves, dragons, random demons etc. are omitted; there are too many manga with those, as they are far more popular than other legends. Urban horror legends aren't included either (like in Terror Night, for example).

Only a few works containing gods are included. They must meet one of the following conditions:
— feature gods originating from other cultures, not Japan's
— feature existing gods from mythology (not made up by the author).

Most of the manga on this list are episodic btw

These manga are set in a bookstore- although the characters may not stay there! From manga recommending booksellers to bookshop romances, from mystery solving bibliophiles to mysterious bookshops, there's something here for everyone.
