A list of all the Shojo and Josei manga titles licensed in English by Seven Seas Entertainment. best rated shoujo according to mal I tried to compile an extensive list of the English Licensed Shojo and Josei manga titles where romance is a sub-plot at best, if present at all (many of these don't have any romance present). This is a list of Shojo/Josei manga where Female Friendship is centered on at least 50% of the time or more. Some honorable mentions that do have prominent female friendships, but in my opinion don't quite meet a minimum 50/50 ratio would be: Fruits Basket, Kimi ni Todoke, Daytime Shooting Star, Chihayafuru, and Ao Haru Ride. I'm defining "modern" Shojo and Josei manga to mean anything that began being published in 2013 or later. Obviously personal taste plays a role in whether you'll like something. I'm also trying to focus on Shojo and Josei manga licensed in English officially, so some excellent stories will sadly be missing from this list (they should probably get their own at some point). |
