I first saw the anime, and then the manga, compared the manga to the anime, the manga is way by far much better.
the story is very rich, the mystery in the story is so deep and fascinating.
the art gets better by every chapter into a outstanding art, the eyes, the clothes the scene actions with the flowing of emotions of the characters, is just amazing,Yukiru Sugisaki is one of the greatest artists I ever seen.
characters, in development is just very good, personalities so unique in each way, and gets a better developmeng in every chapter.
I enjoy a lot the manga, because his mystery,story and ... characters, and the art being so amazing.

so yeah in general is brilliant from what I have read vol.20 stage 3, the most recent chapters from monthly Asuka magazine.

I've to admit when I read the first two volumes of D.N.Angel I didn't understand the story very well, but the drawing style and all of the characters which were introduced so far were amazing. I stopped reading D.N.Angel back then and later started to watch the anime, which is also very good, and tried to read the manga again. I managed it and here goes my first review~

The character design is very well, Yukiru Sugisaki has managed to create awesome clothes for Daisuke and his friends. Moreover the background is also drawn very well and one can say that Sugisaki has improved a lot ... during her work.

The story is amazing but confusing at the beginning. It's much easier to get into the whole thing while watching the anime, but after some time you're also able to get into the story while reading the manga. The plot is easy (I won't go much into detail) and very well outlined. There are a lot of things happening which you haven't expected, but a lot of things happen you've expected, too.

Furthermore I would say that D.N.Angel is not only my favorite manga, but also a very, very good one which should be read by all of you who like mystery and all the other topics D.N.Angel is related to.

this is d.n.angel the anime with couple of tweeks and no ending :D
well in english at least. The last volumes are out in japan i believe but not 100% sure.
the writer never finished until recently. if you loved the anime of dn angel you are guranteed to love this. the mood of the story is better and there are serveral things in the manga that isnt included in the anime. Like wise the anime has some stuff the manga does (like an ending). the art is very nicely drawn and the ... story is much like the anime's story.
i definitely recommend it to all those that love romance dramas with bits of action on the side.
if you've seen the anime for d.n.angel. think of the manga as an alternate retelling instead of a clone.

This was a very enjoyable manga. It had a very well thought out plot and characters. Although it seemed that the main character and rival had something for each other (unfortunatly, I don't know why some anime's do that, but it's kind of funny, since they're both guys, still nothing happens btw) it was still a very good manga. The action and circumstances that the main character, Daisuke finds himself in are quite tricky and it was wonderful to watch him figure things out. The action was wonderful too, they had different realms and all sorts of wonderful fantastic things. It was very wonderful, but ... unfortunatly they had to end it in the middle of a very important end battle. I was so dissapointed. ALso, when I learned that there was an anime, I sadly found out that it was so different from the manga, it was almost as if it wasn't the same story (almost). they added characters, jumbled things up, and also, ending things in the middle. Maybe they ran out of money, but hopefully they'll fix things? the words that my friends said were "what the crap." same goes here.

still, if you want to read the manga and get cut off at the best part, go ahead. Maybe it's because they haven't translated it in english yet and maybe in japan they DO have the ending? hopefully. well, I hope you like it as I did,(not the unfortunate end though)

I'm telling you: d.n.angel is so addictive that once you began reading the manga you can't stop reading it. I am reading it today at animea.net and my parents think i am crazy already coz' i am laughing so loud. The manga is 99.9% better than the anime., but the anime is way more colorful [plus you'll also get addicted to their voice actors/actresses]. I always wanted to know why the characters are ultra-kawaii in the manga but it's anime version is not that fascinating already. Read the manga and you'll agree with me.

I really enjoyed this manga it has a very nice story and is a great shojo manga. Unfortunately i was unable to finish reading the manga because of the 15 volumes published in japan only 13 of them were translated into english before Tokyopop decided to stop translating it.

I rather liked this series. Perhaps one of my favorites...
HOWEVER. What the heck is up with the hiatus.
Anyways, everything in the story moves quite... unique but solid; which is why i liked this.

I love this story and i think the manga is better than the anime...but they are similar. there isnt going to be anymore chapters released anytime soon because the author has put it on hiatus (dont worry, i had to look it up too...it means its taken a break for a while). I was sad too...
But where i read it, on http://www.onemanga.com , it goes up to 54 chapters, Argentine special, 3 short stories, and one side story.

I loved the Manga for D.N.Angel a lot more than the anime.

I found the anime 1st; watched the 1st episode and decided I wanted to look for the manga. My reasons for the most part had to do with the twin sisters: Riku and Risa. I didn't know why at first, but I liked Riku better than her sister and decided to find the manga and skim through it to see whether D.N.Angel would be worth my time and I was impatient to learn about Riku, but I was pulled in and read most the manga 1st, but I did watch the entire anime

The ... anime, but it was very different from the manga, and I thought the manga was funnier. In both the anime and manga it was clear Daisuke had a crush on Risa in the beginning, but it was funnier b/c in the manga Dark (whose for the most part inside Daisuke) had a crush on Riku; and I was kinda pissed that the anime kinda all together edited out having Dark developing romantic feelings for Riku at any point. And that sorta killed most my enthusiasm for the anime, the only reason I watched the whole thing was because I thought Dark was pretty hot.

This manga holds the record of making me hate one of its main characters the fastest. That is, within the first 7 pages of the very first chapters.

And it’s not just the characters, the whole premise doesn’t make much sense altogether. I was so disinterested that I would really prefer to just drop it and not waste my time, but then I couldn’t write this review, so let’s get to it. To answer the opening remark first – we’re introduced to heroine, one of the two main love interests in the series – she rejected the protagonist because he’s too average and wouldn’t help ... gain her social standing. She states that she would only go with someone really hot. The manga does not present this as a bad thing, but rather just brushes it of as normal. This is a manga mainly for young girls. Not exactly the greatest rolemodel. But that’s more of a pet peeve compared to rest of the complaints.

So the basic setting here is that the protagonist has another “personality” within him that comes out when the protagonist feels love. The protagonist has to hide this secret. Now you might see a problem here – the personality comes out when the dude thinks about his crush. Dude is 14. Do you know how horny teenagers are? The secret would be out in 2-3 days at most. And it doesn’t even make sense to tie the feeling of love to DNA instead of heart (or if you want to be more realistic, brain) and feels like this was done only to justify a pun in the series title. To add to the problems, the other personality turns out to be the famous phantom thief, one that has always been a part of the protagonist’s family, in a way. Just a moment goes by between the mother explains this to the protagonist and before telling him to go on his first heist. And our man just rolls with. I guess if your family tells you to go steal shit, you just do so? With no training of course, but magically it works out, because of course it does. One think I like about the setting though is the explanation for not running out of art pieces to steal, as the phantom thief’s rival is an artist making these pieces.

The major plot point, at least at the beginning, is that the two personalities each have a crush on a different girl. This setting could have made for an entertaining short romcom series. Unfortunately, this is neither romcom nor short. And we’re not even given any context as why do they love the love interests. They just do so because the plot will so, I assume.

The art is easily the worst part, often making it hard to understand what’s going on, resulting in quite unpleasant reading experience. This is not helped by the fact that the plot itself feels somehow chaotic, like the author herself isn’t sure where to go with it. To be fair, considering the 20 volumes took 24 years to release, yeah, I’d get lost in what was I supposed to do too. But to give credit when it’s due, the manga actually does improve after the second hiatus, the one that took 7 years. The most jarring difference is an art improvement, as the manga is now actually readable. Great progress. The story also seems like it now knows where it wants to go. This last part made me up my overall score by a point. Had the whole manga been like this, the score might have been even higher, alas the damage is already done and three quarters of this manga are bad.
