Aoi Horus no Hitomi is what could be called a hidden gem. I am lucky enough to live in a country where this manga is licensed, and it is with pleasure that I was able to hold it in my hands. Tribute to all the people who cry on untranslated scans, nonetheless.

The plot is drawn from a true story: the life of Hatshepsut, the queen-pharaoh who ruled Egypt for many years. The author shows how she defended herself against her opponents and against her status as a woman who prevented her from taking full advantage of power and being able to act in politics. Spoiler free I’m sorry if I made it all ten but I just cant help it. This is such a hidden gem I found when browsing facebook and I wish it was given the recognition it deserves.

i am a history geek. i love it when mangas portray historical people like vikings, greek, and finally theres a manga that delve inside egyptian lore. There is so much to unpacked. i am highly disturbed and curious about their said culture

This manga is brutal and doesnt shy away from showing the harsh truth about egypt which makes it more worth the read.
