Both are spinoffs of popular Sunrise mecha franchises, and have a focus on young female characters who are fairly important supporting characters in their original franchises, and also feature action sequences with them taking the lead. NoN focuses more on Nunally's inner struggles, and is an alternate take on Code Geass, whereas CDA is designed to fit into the main UC Gundam canon and chronicles a young Haman's evolution into the woman we see in Zeta and ZZ, albeit mostly from Char's point of view rather than her own. CDA also has a lot more focus on political military drama than NoN does.
