Sekirara ni Kiss and Blue Period are do not seem too similar at first glance, and for the most part that's true. The only reason I make this recommendation is how similar the settings are. In both stories the MC is someone who has no drive in life until the find art. Then they, while still unexperienced but still talented nonetheless, join an art prep academy in hopes to go to art college. Both main male characters are devoted to art and their passion for it grows with the influence of the main female character

Both stories start off with female leads who try act perfect among their classmates. After meeting a guy, they both drop their masks and act like their real selves. Whereas Sekirara ni Kiss has the two leads begin with a friendly relationship, Kareshi Kanojo has the leads sparring.

Both are shoujo~school. Main girls are very cute and honest. MC-Thinking about the boy they met when they were little and finding them again when they are older. Love triangle, where the guys don't like each other, but our girl appreciates both of them. Sekirara ni kiss is more of a typical shoujo and the story progresses a little bit faster, while Fruits Basket is just great and original and not so focused on relationships, but i liked both of them and i really recommend them.

Both female leads are hiding who they really are from their peers until an encounter with a new guy causes them to show their true selves. Romance ensues. Switch girl is much more comedic while Sekirara ni Kiss is more serious.
