My favorite genre Manga featuring children with a seemingly innocent or light-hearted premise/start that isn't what it seems. i dont know how else to describe this vibe, if you can associate even one pair of series on this list together you get what i mean The term "denpa" means electromagnetic wave and is used to refer to people whit strange beliefs or delusions. In manga, the denpa genre often includes motifs of technology, character's who are outsiders in mundane environments, and a surrealistic, but often dark, tone. Common themes include dissconecton from one's surroundings, anxiety, and paranoia. Many denpa stories fall into the horror genre, but a manga doesn't have to be scary or depressing to be denpa. Literature that, at the time of the release, was set at least a year into the future with a date that has already come to pass. Cute characters must suffer. Mangas from different genres and demographies that will most likely leave a mark on you. Rich stories with strong characters and themes, sometimes uplifting, sometimes tragic, but stories worth telling. Beware of the TWs, lots of the mangas presented here contain delicate subjects Oldish manga featuring characters that evoke the 萌え (moe) reaction as per the standards in the early-to-late 2000's, when the so-called moe phenomenon was at its peak in Japanese wota-culture. The titles I've listed here vary greatly in terms of genre, subject matter, and popularity, but they all hold the moe factor in common (in my opinion, anyways.) Some of the popular titles have resurfaced here in the Western side in recent years as part of an internet-born aesthetic known most commonly as "animecore." Manga in which the main female character has another female character as her love interest. The dynamic between them is unhinged, toxic, or controversial. It contains lolicon, violence, abuse, stalking, incest, and other sensitive themes. The genres are diverse: comedy, slice of life, drama, fantasy, horror, supernatural, and more. Manga where the protagonist or another major character undergoes a drastic appearance change. abyss \ ə-ˈbis \ noun Series that cause what I call "Twisted euphoria" |
