Recommendations

Both are great if you like food manga- Shinya Shokudou is more a slice of life dealing with the problems of customers whereas Oishinbo has more drama.

Cooking Papa has less conflict and includes simple recipes you can use at home, Oishinbo focuses much more on the purity of ingredients.

Souta no Houchou feels like a natural descendant of Oishinbo. Instead of focusing on the connoisseur's side of the meal, it's as if we received an entire manga about the young chef Yamaoka helped. The pacing is similar in both as well, with plenty of time and attention given to the food.

If you like cooking manga with explanations of technique, you should like both of these. Oishinbo has more an angsty family backstory while Nobunaga no Chef obviously shows you more Japanese history.

Both are food manga. While Oishinbo is much longer and about making the perfect menu, Ai ga Nakutemo Kutteyukemasu is about the author enjoying eating delicious foods.
