Like any reasonable person, I love vampires and lesbians and vampires who are lesbians. However, one of my more unique penchants is manga that starts off incredibly promising but goes off the rails in the last stretch, leaving me with both murky appreciation and disappointment. Let’s look at what went wrong here.

Vampiress Lord starts off strong with a hefty dose of worldbuilding. In my opinion it’s only fair to judge this manga with the understanding that after the first volume it was decided that there would only be 3 volumes in total (less than what the author originally desired). This shows how it wasn’t necessary good enough for commercial success, which should be taken into mind.

It is also important to note because there wasn’t enough space to fully flesh out the story and characters. This is apparent in the clear lack of a plot that gets proper development. I don’t mind this, but other prospective readers might. There is no ‘bad guy’ or negative force that hinders ...

This manga feels like a hidden gem. It works mostly due to the humorous aspects and the relationship between the main characters, Nana and Yuu. I read it for the yuri content so for me it delivered satisfactorily.

The vampire aspect is pretty lighthearted. The vampires have fangs, immortality, and they suck blood, but otherwise they're pretty normal. Yuu being a vampire is played mostly for comedy between her and the guy who turned her and so that we can have semi erotic scenes with Yuu sucking girls' blood.

To be honest the rushed end didn't bother me. Since I was most interested in the relationship ...
