The best manga of this genre are able to do this in an unpretentious way; conjuring up the feeling like:- don't expect (all) of them to blow your mind, make you rethink your whole life, or anything like that; some may just make you go "oh, i haven't thought about it that way before!" it's just as simple as that. Every manga covered by the Mangasplaining podcast in Season 2. Episode 37 covered Moto Hagio's A Drunken Dream and Other Stories, a compilation volume of one-shots. Episode 48 covered The Blood Red Boy by Minami Q-ta. I plan on reading 100 manga in one month. Manga I will read are on this lists. Another manga challenge, this time themed around Magazines. We found short stories for magazines starting with each letter of the alphabet (except x since there is no magazine beginning with x, so we substituted a symbol instead). Each magazine is listed with the manga. Rules for picking: As the title says, a copilation of the weirdest, most groundbreaking, and overall most original mangas i've read. This includes original stories, stunning art-style, etc. manga that holds some mystery, grace, beauty, and/or surrealism. More transgender authors and illustrators in manga. Most of these ones don't have direct transgender themes. Spanning 6 decades, this diverse set of Shōjo and Josei manga is very much worth reading…according to some random guy on the internet. |
