The 𝕐𝕖𝕒𝕣 𝟚𝟜 𝔾𝕣𝕠𝕦𝕡, refers to the female mangaka who completely revolutionized shōjo manga in the 1970s, and whose influence can be seen in modern shoujo work today.

The title coming from the fact that many of them were born in the year Showa 24
(1949; for this reason they are also occasionally referred to as the Forty-Niners).

Plus a selection of pieces from the "ℙ𝕠𝕤𝕥 𝕐𝕖𝕒𝕣 𝟚𝟜 𝔾𝕣𝕠𝕦𝕡" who were inspired by these mangaka.

The Year 24 Group (24-nen Gumi/Nijuuyonen Gumi, also called the Fabulous Year 24 Group/Hana no 24-nen Gumi or the Magnificent Forty-Niners), is a group of manga artists who rose to prominence in the early 1970s. They are credited with introducing complex themes such as psychology, sexuality, and politics into shoujo manga, which until that point was primarily simple stories for little girls written by men who would migrate to male demongraphics as they gained notability.

Their name comes from the year 1949, or the 24th year of the Showa era, in which several members were born. Which artists merit inclusion is a matter of opinion, with the strictest including as few as just Hagio, Oshima, and Takemiya, and the most liberal including mangaka influenced by them and those who worked as their assistants.

Inclusion of titles in this list is based on a combination of popularity, notability, acclaim, availability in English, and (my) personal taste. Don't read too far into it if I missed a series you like.

"Cannibalism is the act of consuming another individual of the same species"

Welcome dear Person of the internet, this stack will be something not for everybody's taste... Human Cannibals are in any form or way not acceptable, but it happened and continues in till in modern age of humanity.

Although I keep the amount of Vampire Manga (consumption of blood is not sufficient to be counted as Cannibalism) to a minimum, I found a lot of Media covering it, in a rather slight form, till being the main focus.

! Beware this Stack Contains some small and big Spoilers which can ruin your reading experience, continue at your own risk!

!!Readers' discretion advised - Topic: Gore, Nudity [...] and more!!

An interest stack featuring the top 20 winners of the Kono Manga ga Sugoi!" (This Manga is Amazing! aka このマンガがすごい) annual magazine for 2006 (the year this ranking started!), with female and male winners included. It's a great way to find new and interesting manga to read, and serves as a time capsule for the popular manga of each year.

(There are usually 40 total winners, but I can't track down any site listing all of them from 2006 :( )

This stack will feature both male and female category winners, alternating between the female and male winners, from first place to twentieth place.

Note that there can be ties here (usually two-way), and if a category is missing some place (for example, missing 14th place in the male's category), it usually indicates that either its title was not revealed as per the author's request, or there was a tie.

Please feel free to comment/DM if any information is off/missing.

This is a list of the Shojo and Josei manga with sci-fi elements licensed in english. Some lean more into the hard sci-fi elements than others, but whether it be aliens, mecha, robots, a futuristic world, futuristic steampunk, or space they will be included. Some "hide" their sci-fi elements or treat them similar to magic, so keep that in mind.

Not Listed:
Tokyo Mew Mew
Hyper Rune
Mink
Sleeping Next to You

Honorable Mention: Nausicäa of the Valley of the Wind
