They both were transported in a different era in Japan but with different roles to play 

Girl goes back in Japan’s timeline and meets many differents historically figure.  

An athletic high school girl travels back in time to the Sengoku era using a magic sword and falls in love with a young lord. 

Both are humorous stories involving time travel and a romance between a modern girl and a Sengoku era warrior. 

Both mangas are Warring States comedies in which Nobunaga is distant from the main characters. Ashi-girl is more of a star-crossed lovers romantic comedy and Hyouge Mono trades more on laughing at human foibles, but both breathe new life into the most over visited historical manga time period. 

“Ashi-Girl” is basically the Sengoku period isekai version of “Kaze Hikaru” (Bakumatsu period) - except wackier and the male lead isn’t as dense. “Kaze Hikaru” is much more of a slow burn and more realistic, citing lots of historical events. “Ashi-Girl” has a plot where the heroine wants to alter history and “Kaze Hikaru” flows with existing historical events. Both are great comedic shoujo historicals.
