As someone not familiar with the Tenchi Muyou! series, it felt a little weird to see a manga adaptation of an anime, combined with multiple movies, OVA's and spin-offs. It's a little dated, so it may have been more popular than the members of MAL may suggest.

The Tenshi Muyou! series is a little weird. Preliminary (68/80 chp)
I read the first two Tenchi manga adaptations around the same time as tackling the first two OVA series and the three True Tenchi Muyo novels. Personally, I think that's the best way to get the most out of the original Tenchi Muyo universe and it adds so much to the overall characterization, worldbuilding, and excitement of the series.

This manga picks right up with new stories in the Tenchi universe so this is really recommended for those who are at least aware of the characters and general setup. That said, the manga manages to capture the addicting character interactions (which I believe are the core ...
