For a Maison Ikkoku lover, the first 60 or so chapters will almost certainly make you at least a little nostalgic. There's the loser guy (Aetera's loser is far more of a loser, though.) There's the long-haired, easily angered/cute when jealous stunner. There's the athletic, sporty guy with a nice car. There's the short-haired girl who pushes herself on the pathetic lead; getting in the way of the main relationship. ...Does that sound familiar at all, MI fans? If so, give Aetera a go. It does kind of go downhill starting somewhere around the middle - the story being dragged out far more than is good -  read more

Protagonist of both stories are salary man in late twenties, who never had any luck with girls before meeting special one

Yume de Aetara is like the non-adult version of Virgin Na Kankei, with a more likeable male main character. Both have a lot of interferences between a couple's relationships and uncertainties.

Both situations of the protagonist and heroine of the series are very similar, the guy has no girlfriend since birth and the girl intentionally showing no interest for the guy though secretly falling...

Authored by the same mangaka, the execution of the two series share highly similar traits. For instance, the male protagonist is a salary-man who is subjected to a plethora of obstacles before attaining the female lead's heart.

Story progresses in a slow manner, along with romance, and were published around the same years so art and storytelling methods seem similar. But, Yume de Aetara is more of the rigours of a couple while Rough is more of the process before it, and has sports in it.

Well its a story of "To be Married" couple with lot of twist and turns but have same feeling as FLTY ( Fuguno and Chen Xin are very similar).

Both series focus on a guy trying to get a girl to like him. In Yume de Aetara, you've got a twenty-something guy who's completely pathetic going after a beautiful girl who hates guys and has several other guys vying for her affection, and in I''s, you've got a high school student going after a beautiful girl who is a model and has every guy after her. Both series have a fair amount of drama too, plus a lot of misunderstandings!

The story carries out the same way. If you like one you'll like the othere.

Both manga have salarymen as the main characters. Some people may prefer Living Game over Yume de Aerara because the main character isn't as spineless as Fuguno. But otherwise they're pretty similar.

The settings are slightly different, where Pastel is more on school life and teenagers, whereas Yume de Aetara is more between working lives and adults. However, they are similar in the slow romance type, and the gradual building of relationships, with a lot of hurdles along the way. Also, the side characters are gradually being built on along the chapters, and they make progress in their lives too, including romance. Both have conservative main male and female characters.
