The Kodansha Manga Award (講談社漫画賞, Koudansha Manga Shou) is an annual award for serialized manga published in the previous year, the event is sponsored by the publisher Kodansha. It is currently awarded in three categories: shounen, shoujo, and general. The awards began in 1977, initially with categories for shounen and shoujo. The first award for the general category was in 1982, and the first children's category's award was in 2003. The children's category was merged into the shounen and shoujo categories starting in 2015. List of SOME mangas that has winning awards in the past. Looking for quality BL but don't want to wade through a mountain of mediocre crap to find it? Then this is the list for you! A combination of 1st place award winners, #1 bestsellers and other BL manga that received top accolades between the years 2015-2019. Some manga pre-date this time frame but are included if they won an award or topped a list during one of these years. The cream of the yaoi crop! These Boys Love titles center on the topic of marriage; or they feature couples who are already married, getting married, or live together much like a married couple. These Boys Love stories feature guys who have a specific interest or hobby they are passionate about. Titles focused on eating. Titles related to the theme of food that doesn't fit into other stacks: ramen, sushi, drinking, diet, cooks/chefs and food-related titles in fantasy settings. This is the work with the recipe that appeared in the manga work. Wouldn't it be fun to actually make and taste them? This is a list of manga where the main characters or even all the characters are adults, whether they are college students or workers. Some of these manga have a big age gap (5 years or more) but I only included main characters who are at least 20 years old, which means they can be categorized as adults. Also, there are some series for which I only put the sequels because the main character is still under 20 years old in the prequel. Live-action adaptations often leave a bad impression on anyone who has read or watched the source material. Many are even quick to say that they just should never exist. But I beg to differ—these kind of shows helps us look at things in another perspective. WILL your interpretation of [manga] be different if it is acted by people? I don't want to say live-actions are good, in fact I'm still cringing most of the time, but they give fresh air at least. Manga I would consider LGBT rather than a specific genre like BL or GL. I also included lesser-known stories I enjoyed that had LGBT characters whose identities are not made to be major plot points. very much based on my personal tastes, everything here has a larger story and plot, as well as depth of character. some may have romance and smut. most are rather dark. most have lgbt characters, some just have ~the vibes~ I only included the ones with confirmed relationships. Ship bait and other such implications(Devils and Realist) or when it's only played for comedy(Kaguyahime) don't count. collection of BL containing queer representation and LGBTQ+ characters and themes, either as a significant mention or a heavy plot detail Derived from several Chatty AF podcasts. |
