In short: This manga is an amazing slice of life/comedy

Episodic in nature, Chichi to Ko, is a slapstick comedy about a Father and Son with the mother being lost all the time.

Don't be fooled by its humble synopsis, it is quite an enjoyable and relaxing read. The side-characters are well crafted, with each having their own enjoyable personality quirks. I can't recall any story arcs that I disliked nor any did I find unamusing.

The strongest part of this manga I would say is the characters. While each represents a sort of gimmick/trait, it is quite humorous and they make for a very interesting ... amalgam of interactions.

Albeit if you're interested in a story with a complex underlying plot line, this is not the manga for you. But if you have the time and simply wish to enjoy a simplistic comedy, I would say Chichi to ko is amongst the best.

Story - is quite episodic but also connects at times. Interesting enough to keep me reading until I caught up. Great use of comedy, and a very simplistic way of telling. There isn't a lot of drama and just all around a feel good manga, which you can read to get away from all those other drama filled manga.

Art- The art isn't anything to write about, since sometimes some of the female characters tend to look a like at times. The art is quite nice and easy to look at.

Character- This is where the manga shine, since this manga has an assortment of characters. Most ... of which are unique in their own ways and their interaction are always a plus. The story focus mostly on the two main character the father and son, but does give a chance for some side characters to shine also.

Enjoyment - I feel that if you likes a good slice of life manga then this is it for you. It is a easily read manga that fill with comedy and a great cast of character. I had honestly read this manga twice now and just waiting for new volumes to come out. Even if you aren't into manga you should still give this manga a read.

The dynamics of the father-son relationship is so adorable and hilarious. What's more, this is an extremely progressive manga. The father does all the housework, takes care of the son AND has a steady job; while the mother gets lost easily and is extremely bad at finding her way back home. This is such an obvious flip of existing gender roles that make the manga more perfect.

The other characters of this manga contribute so well to the whole story, and the dry humor throughout the storyline gives the ... ending punch.
