The Shogakukan Manga Award (小学館漫画賞, Shōgakukan Mangashō) is one of Japan's major manga awards, sponsored by Shogakukan Publishing. It has been awarded annually for serialized manga since 1955 and features candidates from a number of publishers. Each winning work will be honored with a bronze statuette and a prize of 1 million yen (about US$9,000). Special awards are also occasionally given out for outstanding work, lifetime achievement, and so forth. A list of manga with the most realistic artwork I can think of. Some titles have their own style added into the manga, this is totally fine - so cartoonish features and anatomically incorrect proportions are fine - so long as backgrounds or character art is high quality and reminiscent of realistic imagery/CGI then its eligible for this list. Psychological drama, occasionally known as dark drama or was related to psychodrama, is a sub-genre of drama that places emphasis on psychological elements. It often overlaps with other genres such as fantasy, black comedy, and science fiction, while the genre is closely related with the psychological horror and psychological thriller genres. Psychological dramas use these genres tropes to focus on the human condition and psychological effects, usually in a mature and serious tone. The Masked Man is an American YouTuber who makes videos primarily about manga, but also anime, and very occasionally video games. He does in-depth analysis on the subjects he talks about. Here is his top 50 manga. Series with a prison setting/theme, either institutional jails or informal, DIY prisons. This stack also includes manga that are not listed as "Psychological" in mal database but they still have psychological elements in them E.g. Shoujo Fujuubun. Seinen manga is targeted to males, has action, philosophy, psychological elements, maybe some realistic romance. While it might look like you don't really need to know all of this, you never know when it will be useful: for instance with quizzes, random questions that you wouldn't know the answer to otherwise, fun facts to tell someone else, or if there's trouble or necessity of intervention in your vicinity. These manga have a great way of telling a horror story. Manga with exceptionally good artwork, not something that's the same boring black and white generic faces/body types. But instead manga that takes its artwork seriously, the artist knows how to create a scene, give each character unique appearances. Manga about protagonists that's lives changed for the better due to a change in how they see the world, themselves and those around them, though there are some that must go through hardships before they are able to change. -Manga that breaks people. When possible, I'll add chapter numbers where I remember those scenes. When you're interested in the subject of course. |
