Harumichi, A short but impactful story about heroism, friendship and revenge- All within a small town proceeding the destruction of a gang at the hands of Bouya Harumichi.
The Story of Harumichi resonated me a lot, from the themes of change to the sub-plots of the side characters and their aspirations and drive to leave and achieve their dreams- their falls from exactly that, to the lead protagonist, Uematsu Fujitsu, and his aspiration to stay in his town and protect his friends and home. The events of the story and the fights in it are directly and indirectly cause by Bouya, who's a figure of

intrigue through the story. Although Bouya does not speak and the time from Crows up until the events of Harumichi, regarding him are largely unknown- He is still the same and it feels great to see him.
All of the characters, even ones who only appear briefly, are interesting and grounded. The writing and the things they have both gone through and speak of is interesting as well as beautiful, with the lead being very likeable and relatable, I didn't think much of him when he was first introduced but even through the very few chapters he had to be fleshed out, the Author Dai Suzuki, made him grow on me quite strongly. The leader of the Snake Bites and lead antagonist, Kijima, is also a strong character- with his last couple of pages making him feel a lot more 3 dimensional than what could be expected from someone with such a fairly small role in a short manga like Harumichi.
The art itself still fits in line with Crows and Worse but with a slightly different look, it is still able to deliver the weight from fights and brings the more emotional moments and writing through just as well.
9/10.
