Both are works from the same author. Bakudan focuses solely on boxing featuring a Raoh inspired character. Sakigake!! Otokojuku begins as a comedy series but converts into a tournament battle manga which features various characters inspired by Fist of The North Star.

Bakudan's main character, Baku Ryosuke, and Toriko's Zebra are both based on Raoh from Fist of The North Star. Bakudan is about pursuing a boxing career whose main lead seems like a molding of both Raoh and Zebra in both looks and personality. While Toriko is a more traditional shonen of fighting villains with a food theme, it does have appealing characters such as Toriko and Zebra. Zebra's personality is very similar to Baku so if you're looking for a story centered on a Zebra-like character, read Bakudan.

Both are manga created by Miyashita Akira and unfortunately these manly stories have rushed conclusions due to being cancelled. In my opinion, the pros outweigh the cons as there's plenty of content to b enjoyed, especially to fans of manly/GAR type of series. Bakudan is about boxing while The Family of Brahman is about assassins which both follow the path of a true man. They're great short stories which I think could use some more appreciation.

Baku Ryosuke is inspired by Raoh, the villain of Fist of The North Star. Both characters have an emphasis of achieving their goals through the power of their fists. The story of Bakudan is about a delinquent who pursues boxing while Fist of The North Star focuses on heroic men attempting to bring peace to an apocalyptic wasteland. Both series have their share of manly ideals.

Stories about hard-boiled uncompromising men who thanks to their other-worldly strength conquer every obstacle and crush anyone standing in their way. Pure GAR.

The young orphaned delinquent meets a retired boxer who recognizes his raw, unpolished talent and takes him in under his wings to train him.

If you can't get enough of muscle men beating the living daylight out of people while displaying insane strength feats along the road littered with brutalized bodies, look no further.

It's not enough to brutalize your opponent; you need to do it with a cocky smile and a devil-may-care attitude, and if people's got a problem with that you break their faces. Whatever the question, violence is the only answer.

Both feature teenagers boxing their way to the top, although Holyland mixes in many other martial arts as well. Bakudan is extremely hot blooded and doesn't mess around with dramatic arcs, but the denouement is rather rushed. Holyland spends a lot of time developing characters and delves deep into teenager angst instead of just exploiting it.
