Some of these are pretty popular while others are pretty niche but I decided that as long as it’s shounen, I’ve read the manga and liked it, I added it to the list. That means there are fantasy series, delinquent series, isekai, sports manga, and etc. I hope you find something interesting to read in here! Have a blast!

When I started to read Kimetsu no Yaiba years ago I had this feeling that the manga felt like something I've read before. It took me years before I realised I was thinking about Seraph of the End and to a lesser extent, Blue Exorcist, because I read both around the same time.

There’s a heavy sense of awareness to the threats and dangers, because the advantage is stacked heavily in favour of the antagonists. And there’s usually some occultism sprinkled into story and world building,

Overall, I just feel these works are cut from the same cloth.

A list of manga I for sure want to finish and or catch up with before the end of the year.

I've gone into MAL's database to find as many of these as I can, with some general criteria for making the list:
- Should have at least 20 volumes or 100 episodes in total.
- Should be aimed towards fans of battle shounen. However, it does not necessarily need to have the Shounen tag. This is very subjective, so I may have left out some legitimate series with that.
- Not including series that are mostly slice of life or that sort of thing.
- Not including Delinquent or Martial Arts series for the most part, as they can practically make up their own genre. Some exceptions though.
- Not including super obscure manga with very little/unreliable info about them.
- Sequels are counted with the original, so Boruto is included with Naruto for example.

If you spend a decent amount of time in the animanga community, you've probably heard most of these in passing. These are the popular manga that ended in 2024.

Most of these manga are in the 15-20k+ for overall stats, with a couple of exceptions in terms of categories. Firstly, popular franchises getting sequels/spin-offs that I deem to be lengthy enough to be more than just a simple side story (ie. Fate series). Secondly, popular-ish anime I've heard about and then looked at the manga because it's my list lmao, beware of my recency bias (ie. Jiisan Baasan Wakagaeru).

Any suggestions are more than welcome, especially with future popular manga that is ending this year!
