The are both similar because they are in the same place however, attack on titan before the fall is 70 years before Erens time its also that time when humans still didn't know how to kill titans properly before they even invented Maneuver Gear.Attack on titan before fall has romance in this.

These manga' stories are very very different, but what makes them so similar is the protagonist. If you like a really good protagonist with lots of integrity and a very abnormally strong/quick-witted mindset who also goes on many adventures then look no further. Plus both the protagonist overcame slavery and went through a bunch of stuff. Plus plus both are underrated (IMO).

Both are about constructive love. The main characters always strive to be better in their love life without being too depends on their partners.
