It's a fun enjoyable manga. A fast-read, but nothing special or great about. It's full of cliches, but it didn't stop me from enjoying the manga any less.

While the story might be full of cliches and your typical love triangles, it's still nice and entertaining. The art is fluffy and cute and typical shoujo, the characters are really nice, although they're the same - mature high school boy gifted with everything and a bit insecure high school girl but she is awesome anyway.

In the end, it's a fun manga and it's a fast read. The mature content is there, but it's not a ... hentai - the most you see are some boobs and bottoms here and there.

The manga is pretty short, if I would say so myself. I guess it would be a okay quick read. You see, the story is not amazing. I feel as if there are a lot of plot holes, and some things could've been explored more. I would say it's very predictable, and standard kinda. Really nothing you would remember in the long run. It could've been better if it were longer, but that wouldn't change it's score nor my opinions on it.

The art is normal for that time I believe. I don't really have a problem with it, but it's nothing outstanding.

For characters, they ... are kinda shallow. The mc, Rico, is your standard shoujo girl with the trait of a standard harem guy. By that I mean getting nose bleeds and being very perverted. At points she becomes annoying.
The main love interest( or whatever you call it ), Minato, is so weird? At a very quick rate he reavels his love for Rico and it kinda just feels forced. He also quotes people and sometimes does it at a very weird timing, it becomes comical. I really don't know why he even really does that, I feel like they're trying to push the narrative that he's an author by doing so if I'm honest. They also very briefly touched on the fact that he was a Gigolo(?), and I guess it was to establish that he wants to see the real person or whatever. I just didn't understand what his motive was? Like why did he want to understand? I just didn't feel like it deepened the character that much.
The so called rivals don't feel like they even have a motive for being rivals. Even one of them just up and disappears? The other just wants the person back because why, we don't know. Maybe I missed it, but it really is weird.

Minor spoiler, but I think the movie thing where the reason they broke up was because she was a guy.. is problematic? Or like of course is really bad to decieve someone, but it maybe could have been handled in a better way? Maybe I'm just ranting about a very little detail, oh well.

These generic hidden identity mangas really only has one ending, huh.

Even if I personally found this manga pretty distasteful, I'll try to give it a non-biased review from someone who wouldn't have any sort of extremely firm standards.

Some borderline "spoilers" ahead, but most of are mentions from the first volume, between chapter one and two.

Pretty Good, I give it a 7/10, your typical Shojo Romantic manga drawings.
Pushed me to read it more, CLEARLY not the best around, but still something enjoyable.
The manga is a bit graphic (No genitals, but we do see tits), so you've been warned.

STORY AND CHARACTER

As non biased as possible.
This story's just flat out incoherent.

Rico Matsumi, Alias (R), is asked to become an erotic writer by her aunt for the sake of the company. Rico is 16.
Her aunt never consulting Rico's parents.

Let that sink in your mind for a moment.

The manga "starts" with how she meets Minato Kaburagi, a 15 year old (one year younger than Rico), who's sleeping naked on a local floor. Who prostitute himself with women for money, who also won an award (which makes him the youngest to win an award.

He almost forces her to touch his private parts and then he takes her phone and snoop through it not even 5 seconds to find out somehow that "OH R IS RIKO. GIVE ME YOUR VIRGINITY (or money) OR I'LL TELL EVERYONE"

This all happens, in the first two chapters.
Let that sink in even more.

Then our main character, Rico, will have to take a persona for (R) to avoid people knowing she is the one writing the erotic stuff and she gets into a relationship with Minato.
Where her aunts ask her to take part in a really sexually suggestive photo shoot for the stuff (R) writes, with someone else than Minota (because her boyfriend was busy with school, obviously...) .
Then the manga consists mainly of Rico and Minota trying to have sexual intercourse 1/3 times in the entire manga because Rico has nosebleeds or passes out whenever they get sexual.

Let it sink in baby, oh yeah.

I get that this manga is meant for young girls who're discovering their sexuality, but sadly for me there is some stuff that doesn't add up and destroyed entirely the appeal of the manga for me.

I give the character a 4, the story gets a 2.

ENJOYMENT

The manga was released in 2004, written by Sugi Emiko (すぎ恵美子) who died soon after releasing her last manga, Dokidoki Aki no Ninpouchou in 2007.

It had its charms, it would have been something really good if it wasn't for the extreme non-sense even if it made some of its charm.
A manga that would have had an extremely high potential, if the person who wrote it didn't rush most of the detail only inside of two chapters.
It is short and the humor isn't bad, but some stuff doesn't make sense and shows almost no effort into trying to be a minimum good or logical.

Enjoyment gets a 3.
I also give this manga an overall 3.
