Both shows are cute slice of life shows featuring a cast of cute girls doing cute things. A new girl (Amako and Kokoa) move to a new town and easily makes friends with a variety of characters. They spent their time hanging out together.  

Slice of life shows featuring a large cast with moe designs. Sweet magic syndrome follows the reopening of the tea ceremony club while Yuru Yuri follows the amusement club who use the old clubhouse for the closed tea ceremony club. Both with hints of the Yuri genre. Waffle (Sweet magic Syndrome) and Ayano (Yuru Yuri) have unrequited love for another character. Amako (SMS) and Akari (YY) are both 'cinnamonrolls' Yui (YY) and Maki/Caramel (SMS) both have prince like personalities. Chinatsu (YY) and Pudding (SMS) both have clingy personalities towards one of the characters. Chizuru (YY) and Cream (SMS) both have fantasties/enjoy taking photos of 'yuri-esque' scenes.
