Every manga that focuses on the delinquent life or similar (bosozoku also included). Note: Mangas that contains delinquents but aren't about delinquents won't be included, such as Slam Dunk, Yu Yu Hakusho and Beelzebub. I'll order by the ones I consider to be the most important to the genre. This is not a definitive list, I can and probably will be forgetting some mangas. Also, I won't put every single Crows/Worst side-story (because there is more than 15 so far).

Not including the old-fashioned bandit/proto-delinquent mangas such as Otoko Ippiki Gaki Daishou (Motomiya Hiroshi has several mangas like that), Gakuran Hachinegumi, Banchou Wakusei and Yuuyake Banchou.

If you haven't read any of these yet, I recommend Kiku and Bakuon Rettou as starters.

Some mangas are not available to read, but I put here hoping someone who reads japanese gets interested enough to start a project translanting the manga.

Number of sales and date that number was acquired from in notes for each. Some of them I have personally estimated a higher figure than the date says.

No. 98 is Gaki Deka, but I couldn't find it. It has sold 30 million (November 16th, 2017), and was made by Tatsuhiko Yamagami and the publisher is Akita Shoten.

No. 99 says Jingi, but it seems to be Tachihara Ayumi's other work Maji! due to the dates and amount of volumes.

No. 11 is Senri no Michi mo by Ippo Ohara & Satoshi Watanabe, which started in 1989 and ended in 2022 with 134 volumes & 501 chapters in Weekly Golf Digest.

No. 23 is Hakuryuu, which started in 1996. I have put Hakuryuu Legend instead because I could not find an earlier version.

No. 26 is Kowashiya Gen by Hoshino Hideki & Sadayoshi Ishii, which started in 2003 and is onging with 106 volumes & 1028 chapters in Weekly Manga Times.

No. 37 is Kabachitare! by Takashi Tajima & Takahiro Kochi, which started in 1999 and is ongoing with 93 volumes & 974 chapters in Weekly Morning Kodansha.

No. 46 is Impact by Nobuhiro Sakata & Ryouji Ryuuzaki, which started in 2002 and ended in 2019 with 85 volumes & 851 chapters in Par Golf.

EDIT: Added "Four Knights of the Apocalypse", "Knights of the Area", "Gamaran", "GTO: The Early Years" and "Cromartie High School".

This is the order I think works best.

If you just want to read GTO, even without reading previous entries you will understand 98% of the story.

Bad Company happens before Shonan Junai Gumi but I think it's better to read after (also, it released after).

Ino-Head Gargoyle is a spin-off and can be skipped, but it does add something to Saejima as a character.

GT-R is also a spin-off that (in my opinion) doesn't add anything to the story, so it can be skipped.

There is also Shonan Seven, but the only connection it has to GTO franchise is that it takes place in the same region and high school as Shonan Junai Gumi, therefore I didn't add it to the stack.

Order to read

It's the 2nd most popular Manga Magazine right after Jump. It got so many good manga titles!
