This too is a long, hard fight, with characters who say and do stupid things and suffer all kinds of hardships but still keep persevering, giving their all to reach their happy ending. Both deeply test just how dark they can go, but both are worth it in the end.

In both, a couple begins to act on their sexual desires. Do note however that Hajimete Datteba has a more light-hearted feel, whereas Chisa x Pon covers a more dramatic angle.

Both of these titles revolve around characters who are increasingly becoming aware of their human sexuality.

Both series highlight the development of a couple's relationship. Being seinen series, the two profoundly maintain the outlook from the male protagonist, though we are also subjected to the female protagonist's thoughts. Finally, mature themes are explored with a somewhat consistent focus on sex - moreso in the case of Chisa x Pon.

The exploration of sex, profoundly in the eyes of the main characters, is a similar premise shared by both series. Do note however that Futari Ecchi has a comedic tone, whereas Chisa x Pon has a more dramatic focus.
